Your last post is a good example of an innocent post.
It may very well be that some vendors and former vendors are a little too sensitive but it is for good reason. - I will aplogise in advance for the group if we collectively read you wrong...
Try posting a new topic with straight forward question that doesnt lean either way and you will be amazed by the helpfull repsonse of the members here..

Hummmm he says hes got the JDM shift kit and made it a point to say that one of the lightnings that was at his dealer had and aftermarket pulley that didnt have a support bracket. He said it wiped out the thrust washers or shims and that the engine lost oil pressure and locked up. Hummm first ive ever heard of that happeneing and ive been on this board over a year now? The last time that i walked through a dealer repair shop the mechanics that were supposed to be fixing cars were seeing who could do the most push ups dont think they seem like someone that would be that informed about aftermarket parts and I really dont see a sales man whos trying to sell you a truck telling you how this lightning here is in for a leaky intercooler, and then telling you there are 2 other trucks there for repairs?? Its just common sense i mean if im trying to sell you a $32,000+ truck i wouldnt take you in the back to show them one with a leaky intercooler and 2 more in there for repairs. Seems just a little funny to me he knows who JDM is and made a point to bash pullies that dont have a support when whos pulley has a support humm i wonder ??

Hey Joe,your questions are strumming a lot of raw nerves.Theres a lot of history here you may not be aware of.You might wanna watch the board a little while to learn who the players are.TIP:I watched the board for 8 months before posting. Most of the guys here are great people, but you look a little suspicious. There are a lot of agendas being aired here.I'm not trying to slam you in any way, just trying help.I hope you dont take it wrong.
Ha.
Spiros an *******??? LOL I thought I was the aSShoe here. Hey, Spiro, quit trying to steal my title.
Ok, heres the deal ace. First quit being coy We want the name and location of the dealership, what was the color of the L with the blown engine and name of the tech. If someone had a blown engine and was being told it was caused by an aftermarket lower pulley, trust me, we would all know about it, becuase he probably got it from someone here. Inundo like bull***** doesn't go far here.

wheredidjoego,
welcome, I guess.
Now then, cut to the chase and state your point sir!
IMHO, this wreaks of one recently ousted JJ.

Funny. They have 3 in the shop for serious work some OBVIOUSLY due to illegal modifications, but the dealer I bought mine from is NOT a country bumkin dealer. They are one of the biggest SVTs in the area. They knew ZERO about intercoolers and front end problems. SVT certified?? I had a salesman more interested than the mechanic.
Also, like was said earlier, why no profile? No one wants your home address or phone. It just seems more legit when you can present some real information about yourself. Even if you have a need to lie who would know but you!

THis thread is heading down hill fast.
Dr D most of the Mods talked about here are "Legal" they just may or may not affect your warranty. Nothing illegal about changing things on your truck as long as you dont screw with the EPA stuff.
Guys lets avoid using words you know the automatic profanity checker is going to *** we are all smart enough to get our points across without using street slang.
Thanks
Doug

Hey, I didn't get this much response to my first posts. I agree with NozeBleed, sit an watch a while. Look back only a couple of weeks, and you'll find some rather heated arguments about aftermarket parts and if a dealer likes them. Your first posts made some slight remarks to paticular pieces. That's all. Thanks for joining, and I promise most of the time Spiro is helpfull.
And one more thing, don't **** off the admin. Good luck and happy posting.

What he said to me was that the two Lightnings that were not covered under warranty must have had an aftermarket pulley for the blower put on the end of the crankshaft without a support or something. (how can you support something that is spinning?? ).. anyway.. He said it wiped out the thrust washers or shims and that the engine lost oil pressure and locked up..

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt about not really knowing about this stuff and just asking innocent questions. If you're screwing with us, you'll slip up eventually and get run off the board.
If you're sincere, I would like for you to find out EXACTLY what happened to the other two L's there. The only "thrust" anything I can think of related to the pulley would be the thrust bearing which keeps the crankshaft from moving front to rear. And I just can't for a second think the pulley is capable of tearing that up. Please find out. Thanks in advance.
