trust me on this!!!!

If your getting your motor rebuilt DONT PUT STOCK INTERNALS BACK IN THERE!!!!!!

at least upgrade the rods to something that can handle some power.
Manley h-beams can be bought for about 500ish
stock gt500 internals will work in our motors and are good to about 6-650hp.

if i were you i would get new rods and pistons while to motor is out and apart and you wont have to worry about blowing her up again!!!

Theres no point of rebuilding a weak motor to only risk blowing it up again.

And with that being said brings up the issue...they are doing this for no charge to me because it blew up the 2nd day I bought it. Trust me I'd love to throw in high performance rods n pistons but I jus bought the truck I don't have more money to throw in it right now...maybe when truck is paid off ill build it n make it indestructable

well cant beat a free rebuilt motor....but it would have been the perfect time to do what i suggested. now that its a fresh new motor get a good solid tune from a reputable tuner and it should be safe for a lonnngggggg time.

Also check to see what size lower and upper pulleys are on the truck..might have been why it vented to block in the first place. Do you if anything else is done to it?

Ya I plan on taking it to a tuner n get them to check it out...ill have to wait til I get the truck back to see about the pulleys but I think the exhaust might have something to do with it

because people buy these trucks and have NO CLUE about 'em

ie don't let it shift into OD at WOT, don't do a 4th to 2nd kickdown etc...

The sad thing is that the truck does it and can't handle it they should have programmed the tranny shifts differently or something....can u imagine going to buy a new lightning n the salesman telling u that? Huge turn off to those who aren't super serious about one

when these trucks were new, people were afraid to go past a 2# pulley now people are rocking 8#ers on high mileage motors with no issues

all it takes is a lil' research...

So they finally took the engine apart and turns out it had a melt down. I also found out it has no cats in it and I don't think it got tuned

sine they are tearing it down, at least have 'em swap out the stock rods for stronger ones (unless they get you another longblock)
