blown up lightning need advice!
Ya they went with a long block. They said they r gunna take it to a dyno tuner also
sounds funny, if the motor blew and rod went or piston melted could have caused major damage to the head if not both.. i would be leary about what is getting put in ur truck.. i would want to see it done part by part so u knew what was being installed.. i think u can even buy aluminator blocks now for like 3500.. as well before u do any driving or break in i would wanna have the tune either looked at or re done.. should def look into a mafia tho

the almininator is a 32 valve 4.6 and won't work with the 5.4 Eaton supercharger assemblyand yeah he needs a MAF or MAFia
talk to your tuner, my personal opinion is the SCT BA2400 or SCT BA2800 (those are the old ones that can be used in a stock housing, but since they had some issues with Ford they offer a BA2600 and BA3000 now that come in a 90mm housing with a different bolt pattern than the stock electornics)
who said anything about buying a long block aluminator? buy aluminator block whick is good for about 600rwhp and use 5.4 heads.. kindergarten stuff..
STOP GIVING BAD ADVICE, stop being a tool and learn before you cost someone a lot of money due nto your ignoranceyou are suggesting use the 5.4 2 valve heads on a 4.6 block then what is he going to do for the lower intake assembly????
for anyone who finds this thread, feel free to ignore any "advice" / "suggestions" made by XXRJXX
a 5.4 and 4.6 blpock difference is like the 302 and 351w block difference and due to deck height the intake manifolds will not interchange rendering this almuniator "suggestion" utterly useless if a Lightning owner woishes to retain the stock lower intake manifold...

I'll see what the price difference is first but I might as well go with the better one if its about the same
I'm running a Whipple with pulleys. No head work and a stock block but a BA 2600 is more than adequate for my setup. Like tarajerame said, bigger is not always better and could lead to tuning problems. The MAF should be sized based on your expected airflow, not price.

I started with a ported Eaton, switched to a Kennebell and then to a Whipple. The KB and Whipple are very similar when it comes to HP increases. I like the sound of the KB more than the Whipple but I got better times at the track with the Whipple with both running the same boost. I would say it's pretty much a toss-up between the KB and the Whipple so just look for a good deal.
