Question How much distance does it take to reach 147 MPH (approx)?

Anyone know how much distance it takes to get these trucks to this MPH?

From a roll, or stopped?

Anyone ever clock their Lightning for top MPH from a dead start for 1 mile?

I know they have a 147 MHP top speed rating from Ford's Michigan Proving Ground high-speed oval, but I'm looking for how long it takes to get to 147 MPH (give or take), or what a mile from a dead stop is worth.

If everything is in top condition and moderately modded, clearly less than a mile. I did it all day at the open track event for the last two days.

These trucks never cease to impress me.

Talk to me!

What mods, timing settings, fuel/octane did you use?

I run 18 degrees on 93 octane but generally never go past 110 MPH like that. My plan is, to run the one mile event down heere on VP fuels 103 unleaded and leave the timing at 18 degrees. My A/F has always been in the low 11's. Temps here in Miami will bein the 80's for sure with plenty of humidity. I should be okay? My motor is the stock junkblock with the s h i t-crack-cap rods.

6lb, 3 tunes from RET, CAI, maf, custom catback, ported plenum, idler pullies, FTVB, belltech springs and shocks, traction bars, panhard bar, Sway bars. I think I'm forgetting something, but sounds like the same basic stuff as you.

I've only taken the speedo north of 140 a few times (and boy did I hear about it from fellow L owners) but it gets there really quick.

How much timing were you running, and what octane fuel?
