Hypothetical ? about a lighting?

I was wondering if it would wise of mw to purchase a bone stock 2002 Lighting for 5k, yes 5k, it has been totaled by the insurance but a salvage title has been issued.

What i really want the truck for is the drive train and computer, sensor, and seats, and the bed if it will fit my 1997 150 with the shortbed.

I want to put the whole drivetrain in my 66 mustang for a few reasons, fuel efficency, availibilty of parts, means how i have to take a bucnh of wiores i also want the added safety of ABS disc Brakes on my mustang.

Alot of the other stuff looks salvageable, doors, interior knick knacks, the wheels, springs, emblems, tailgate, and lights except for drivers HL.

The thing that scares me is that it was hit kinda head on so it pushed the radiator into the motor, so Iam worried it hurt the motor.

and before you say it, i know the rear will have to be shortend, to bolt up to the leafs on the stang, but my grandfather used to make half a living on doing that stuff for sprint cars and micro midgets.

it is a local deal so i can go see it soon and really tell for sure what is good and bad.

Any advice would be helpful, Thank you.

Change of heart, i cant see a lightning that is fixable go unfixed, i am going to try and buy it to fix it at school, we have a frame rack and a bunch of tools to do it, i'll get parts cheaper through a school discount.

I just can't tear her apart you know.

now a salvage title vehicle is completley street leagal upon repairs right?

If any of you guys have L parts that i might need i will start asking now .
Radiator, almost a whole front clip, headlight or two, corner light. I'll find out more if i can get her.

you can use "regular" F-150 parts for some if not most of the cosmetics...

everything else talk to Mike Dunn

i thought i could, but i can't seem to find the valence like the truck had originally, so its starting to get confusing, and what not,
I have made a lil list so far and i think i am going to need

1: Drivers fender
2: front cosmetics, bumper, grille(s), valence, and the knick knack going with the front cosmetics.
3: set of lights, and corners.
4:Radiator, and core support
5:Air bags(This is what is going to be the hard part.)
6: The other Miscalaneous

true very true, do the L's have a special airbag for the wheel.
How much do you want for the pass bag if the drivers wont work.
