read this thread and it tells you how to get the pin number for the X plan. With the pin number, you call the fleet manager at the delership to see if he has what you want and will honor the X Plan price.

I just purchased the Escape for my wife using the X-Plan

Thanks FORDSALES, I had read the entire bit about joining the EAA to get a pin for X-Plan, but just thought that since there were a couple of righteous guys giving away x-plans earlier, I might find someone willing to do the same and save myself the 40 clams. Also, didn't want to wait 5-6 weeks for EAA membership info to arrive.

It doesn't take weeks. The guy I mentioned with the Z06 had his new "L" within a couple days. I think it's all done with e-mail.

4D THNDR and TOTALED - thanks for the info, someone yesterday indicated that EAA sent your pin by mail and it would take 5-6 weeks to get the new member package. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm pretty sure its not a loss to the dealer. They probably still get the holdback and I believe they get some base level of income on all plan sales. Independently owned ford dealers would not eat a loss for ford employees.

my 2 cents

Go back on to the EAA web site with your membership number, enter the members part of the site where you will find the area to get your pin. Fill out the info. for Ford along with your soc. sec. number and you will get the pin number instantly.

The question was asked: does a dealership lose $$$ if they sell an L for the X Plan?? In most cases YES, about $3,000 and more if the store generally sells them over MSRP.

If the dealership is in an area, like Alaska, where no one wants one (they rather have a 4x4) than the answer would be NO.

Can the X Plan be used with leases also, or just buying?

I figure it would be ok, just another for of financing...
