Gitchi Manitou--

how true that is.... believe it or not, most cops don't care to give out tickets all day long. i'd rather give a warning, otherwise it's paperwork, going to court (i have NEVER not shown up for one of my cases--even my days off [hey, it's overtime]), maybe you'll get mad and i'll end up arresting you. lots easier to give a warning and say have a nice day.

LowRiderHD2000--

can't speak for other agencies, but for mine (state investigations), NO. of course, most of my investigations are long and drawn out so there's no expectation other than do what is necessary as quick as you can before the bad guy boogies out of town. might be different for the street cop, but when i was one of those the answer was still NO.

STOP THE PRESS! I dont know why this is such a long thread, there is only one answer at this point and i saw it stated boldly and repeatedly. GET A LAWYER, GET A LAWYER, GET A LAWYER! This is no small matter, fines, your insurance big time and your lisence, not to mention potential incarceration. If you never spend another dime on your L, get a lawyer, Now! Not a competent one, get the best you possibly can. If it were me i'd spend a thousand to get out of it in a heart beat, hopefully less. No time for talking or thinking, get some killer legal representation, it's your ONLY chance. There is nothing else to say, it's gone too far, do it and do it now. This ain't no humble opinion, no joke, do it now.

Angry

Police, to protect and serve... Yeah right, serve my ***... About a year ago, me and my friend was going up the middle of La Follette on a four lane road and we both have Ford F-150 his is a 97 and mine is a 99 as I turned off to go home I waved at my friend and turned off onto a side road as I was turning off a cop pulled up to the light, and saw us.. Well for no reason at all the cop pulls a u-turn and follows me about a mile and pulls me over for drunk driving... To make a long story short I wasn't drinking and I've never have drank... I passed a blood and uriane test and by the time I was done with all that I was pissed beyond compare. I got back to my truck finally and told the cop to never ever pull me over again if he liked his job.

I just think the cop saw a new Black shiney truck and wanting to take it off the road than a 97 Blue and silver ford that hadn't been washed in 5 months... Cops are such an ***.

Why don't you tell us the whole story Nathan? It's apparent you guys were toying around and having some fun. If you can't tell us everything then all these posts here mean nothing in court. When you get up in front of the judge he's not going to listen to you just say that you were cruising. He'll NEVER doubt two officer's confessions saying you were racing.

2nd of all, even if you use your blinkers and you're doing over the speed limit, as you were, it's considered an illegal lane change. You were caught red handed it sounds like.

Sorry, not to sound harsh, but please give the true details (*all* of them) so we can attempt to help you better.

Roger is right. Go to court, please not guilty, then when they reset your court date the officer most likely will not be there. Now, this doesn't always work in smaller cities since they usually trial and prosecute on the same day. Larger cities they usually do the arraignment first, and then the trial at a later date. I've gotten off my last 3 tickets this way (no joke).

Sorry MadMax for bringing this back to the top.

LowriderHD2000, you should come check out the races saturday nights on 50th Ave. It's just by the Road King. I just found out yesterday my stunting charge was quashed, which means either it was thrown out of court or they just didn't have enough time for it. They say that there's a chance the cop can re-serve me with it though, which I don't understand. Hey, look out for a silver Lightning running around in the southeast. My buddy lives down there, and he's always looking for some fresh blood. Do happened to have a blower under that hood?

1st get a lawer. Any good lawer can rid you of a ticket. Spend the money on the lawer not the ticket. If there is no rader you are all set no matter if there is video as long as know sign of speed is present. My farther was once sighted for speeding in his vette he was well over 120 and the cop new it cuse he estimated 115. But the lawer simpley stated with a wink to the court judge Corvettes look fast parked! Ticket squashed.

If you really were not racing the video will show it. Do not even try to BS your way through and have the video prove you wrong. If you are wrong accept it, take it like a man. If you are right fight it to the end.

You guys didn't notice a car pacing you to 110?! I'm EXTREMELY paranoid when speeding, so anything that resembles Crown Vic, Chevy Caprice, Camaro, or Impala headlights makes me pucker.. I'm sorry you guys got busted, it's a REAL sh*%$y feeling. But, man pay attention...

People, I wasnt racing. The number and severity of violations surprised me which is why I asked for advice here. I got some good comments and a lot of flame bait. Thanks to those who offered useful advice. As the majority suggested, I am getting a lawyer which I planned to do from the beginning. Hopefully this post will be the last on this thread.
