I work at a Toyota dealership (And drive an L, imagine how that goes =P) and as far as Ive seen there are no mods for the Tundra besides the usual TRD exaust, suspension, and perhaps an intake. An S/C was planned but it was blowing motors on the 5.7 and when the motor was beefed up it started grenading the rear end instead. So straight from the pros...dont expect a TRD charger for that monster anytime soon (thank god!!!)

Mine was Black too,
Ya Man that vehicle aint no joke, it comes off the showroom floor
with a built motor, headers, cams, ported heads, hi flow manifold, convertor, beefed up trans, slap shifter, etc. May just be the technoligy miricle of our times too cause even with Goodyear Performance Tires on it you CAN NOT get it to spin a tire or go sideways in rain, snow, or even ice. There are so many Traction Control Systems in it that it's just outright mind blowing how it moves and stops even on snow and ice. If it wasnt for the 800.00 payments for 6 years and the 2 MPG it got I'd prob have it for life.

Some info on my old one HERE

Is this Tundra still in England?

I have a real 4 door truck you can race against.

Me too.

You know, we did about 7 or 8 meetings up and down the country last year.
All we had racing were Lightnings,a few HD's and 2 Siverado SS who both blew engines trying to keep up.
Never saw a Tundra, Dodge Hemi, SRT 10 all season on the track.

I'd love to race some other trucks apart from Lightnings and HD's.
Ricki beats me up every time but then again, he goes 11.1 with the wheels up

Hey Adam - how's it hanging bro.............

Yeah we are bit light on opposition from the others marques...
The SRT's get done on the way to the meet at the traffic light granprix as do the Chevy's so maybe we scared them off.
When they cruise the pits and see us Rebels getting things sorted out there is gonna be some quick competition...

All chilled out with Tea and Fish n Chips too

Still at least we show up to events Rain or Shine
I we say were gonne be there we are....

I Ran a 4door tundra at the track he ran a 14.5 than a 14.4 so they run good but last week I ran a 13.6 so I guess I don't have to worry about the tundra for a while.

I am assuming that these HP / torque numbers being quoted are crank numbers right?
Because I raced a Tundra, or at least it seemed like we were racing but when I put 2 truck lengths on him almost instantly, he backed out of the throttle.
Didn't seem to be close, but I'm not stock so an extra 125+ ftlbs of torque will make all the difference.
Do the usual mods and you will not have anything to worry about.

I wish one would screw with me. I look 110% bone stock. I love the fact that they built them to beat Lightnings. Reminds me of the SRT-10 days.

Stock vs stock? Good job to the Tundra. But to be fair, the Lightning is now much older and aging tech. A more fair comparison would be trucks of the same year/generation. Only if Ford would do something nice and make us Ford fans a new Lightning? I'm sure Ford would not bother with a new Lightning if it wouldn't come out as the fastest production truck of it's generation.

Anyway, I still would not own a Tundra since I have never liked the body style/look of them. To me they always looked like a 'generic' no-name knock off of a name brand product. Looks played a major role of me buying a Lightning (actually I've had three Lightnings so far).

I know when my 99 L was stock and if and if it shifted to 2nd gear before I punched it, it was like a dog until 3rd gear. A accumulator body from chickenears.com and a six lb pully and a tune fixed that. Rock on guys

That was a Ford tuning issue mostly around 3000 rpms. They fixed that in 01. Put an 01+ computer on a 99-00 and its gone.
