Red face

I have been waiting all day to get on this thread! I'm not here to flame anyone. Just asking questions and adding a liitle input!

Where are the times on the truck with just the intercooler and supercharger?

What gear ratio was in the truck?

Did the SVT guys reflash the truck with an updated calibration?

The reason I ask is that Ford is only going to replace the lower-intake which houses the intercooler and replace the supercharger.

Ford is not going to update the 99-00's that come in for leaking itercoolers with the additional 01 updates. They are not going to resive the hole on the inner fendr, nor are they going to put a 90MM Ford mass Air Meter on. If SVT guys were down their they needed that info for correlation and validation data!! Not everyone will be running a 3.73 axle. So i think everyone would be interested in knowing what the truck did just with the intended fix for the I/C problem. I don't think the truck did as well as a stock 01. POST THE NUMBERS FROM THE TRACK WITH JUST THE FORD FIX!!!!

Thank you.
Thor01

Dave,
Hate to say this but get the facts right. Jerry's truck is a test bed / mule what ever you would like to call it. It was updated to the 2001 configuration to showcase those performance features. It has the correct manifold, intercooler and supercharger. So the engine configurations is 2001 and the external features were updated too. IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS NOW TURNING INTO A CONTEST AS TO WHO IS THE BIGGEST EXPERT. I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS NEAT TO POST A PHOTO OF JERRY'S LIGHTNING AT THE TRACK AND GIVE THE RESULTS.
THIS IS ALL TOO MUCH FOR ME I'LL JUST GO BACK TO MY VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER.

Ok well I shouldnt post here either, but I mean, jeez, what the hell is so hard to understand. The truck is being used for testing. TESTING. I can see morality issues if the guy was selling it has a 2001, but he isnt. If anything the guy is testing new parts out to get ideas to lead to inovations for new MODs that we will all end up buying soon. Sometimes ignorance is angering as it looks was the case here. Same with ole FD. He got busted by those who know and use the G-Tech (I included). Then he makes it personal cause he got busted. You just cant beat catching someone in a lie and watching them squirm. LOL

Eric

BA,
I understand what you are saying! You are a man of your word and my post was not directed at you! So don't go back down to the river.

Just to say that your engine configuration may be correct! But, you are still using an 99-00 chip. The calibrators made changes for the additional air flow and less restricted intake runners on the 01. They did not get all the hp gains from the components. The aftermarket chip gave casper better gains, put that same chip to a 01 and it will not be the same.

The calibrators here have read this (I sit with 8 of them) they disagree with the comparison. People on this thread are not in the position i am, and i want them to undestand that there is more to it then adding hardware all the time.

The software makes a difference. I'm like you when it comes to people claiming they are running this or that. "Just show me the slip." I'm not giving you a hard time. I would like to see the times on the truck with the 99-00 axle ratio, no chip or meter.

Then the people can break that time down for each mode they have added to their truck. Then they have a good idea of what their times should be around when they go to the track.(If they have dyno or track data for each mod)

And "yes" it is my job at Ford to update Prototype builds. I'm one of the build coordinators for our development section and i do know alot about this. The people have to realize that when the 01's get the same mods it will not be apples to apples.

I think it's great Casper is running those times and keep up the good work on the mods. Just letting others know there is more to this!

I too am going down to the river. I have nothing more to say.

Thor01, it sounds like you have a pretty cool job.

I have no comment about this matter at this time.

Tundra,
I may have a cool job! But you live in a cool state! No GRIZZLEY bears in Michigan.

A state I would like to visit someday.

If this truck has been updated to 2001 specs does that mean the hole in the fender that was opened up for 2001 is bigger as well?

I did not want to come back to this post but for the sake of correct information. Yes. The fender opening was opened up.

B4 there was a lightning section here, there was a rumor, that if someone was so inclined, and willing to start hacking away at their brand new G2 Lightning., there was hp to be found in their drivers front fender. the air filter testing/mods quickly followed. those were the good ol days.

HotRod6,
I think that's the same dance Jerry does when he runs over a tool box.
