BlackLight,

Think about this for a minute if a 80mm Pro-M flows more air than a 80mm Ford it's because the MAF is off to the side and I believe smaller. A 80mm Ford has a vein down the middle effectively making it a ~75mm MAF, Pro-m ~80mm.

Now take a Ford 90mm really ~85 see above, add a pro-m MAF into it and WHAM a 5mm bigger MAF than a 90mm Ford?!?

Talk about comparing apples to oranges to bananas?

No spam here, just the relation of a 00 to a 01 on this board isn't too consistent

Hey Guys! I think you are missing something. Casper is running a Pro-M air meter they are 80 mm units. If you go to purchase one it will be the same for the 1999, 2000 and even the 2001. For all intent Jerry's Lightning is a 2001, it has all of the correct hardware. What you should have been saying was WOW! It run good but no better then some of the 1999 and 2000 Lightnings. Jee Wiz I don't need to unload mine and purchase a 2001 because I think that someone if going to be faster then me. But then maybe some of you missed that.

My cab+chassis has a window sticker of 40,710.
It is a white 2000 f650 xlt with dual 50 gallon, 210hp, ford 5306a 6 speed, hydrolic breaks, air ride seat with 22.5 wheels.
I paid 28k for it brand new.

I dont care for the 22.5 wheels because of angle of the ramp but thats one more reason,I got a 21ft instead of 19ft also,21fts can carry suburbans no problem,no hangin over. Its also got removable rails good for sheds and things.

also its a 26000 GVW so no CDL But i need apportion plated due to me living in a cluster of states which is gonna allow the state to go deep with no lube......OUCH

I like the frieghtliners, they are good dependable rigs.I especially like the new ones with the round lights. Is that what you have?

Babolt, those are great times but not indicative of a true 01 as your heading of "real times" states.I believe your topic was in response to flyingdutchmans G-tech numbers from your reply in his 1/4 mile times topic a few days ago.Lets wait until he or another real 01(redesigned intake, intercooler and all) comes back with some track timeslips. It should prove as interesting as these last 35 replies were.Anyway, it will only benefit the rest of the class!

If Jerry is running all the 01 internails, and cosmetic changes what makes it deffernt then any other 01 that runs around on the street. The way I look at he is lucky he got to play/test with a 01 in 00 cosmetic trim when pretty much all on this board couldnt of. I wonder just by some chance some of the early 99 models where actual made frame and all in early 98 so would it be a 98 model or a 99 model? I know there was no production model in 98 for the Lightning. Im just adding fuel to the fire and trying to figure out why some have a hard time beliveing this?

OK. Lets get this straight for the last time. Casper is built with all the 2001 parts it has the good intercooler and supercharger. How hard is this to understand. In the auto industry vehicles are retro fitted all the time for testing. To say that this vehicle does not represent a 2001 shows that many of you do not know what you are talking about. To bring Casper to 2001 specs. it was not done in someones backyard in was done by Ford. Go tell them that it is not a true 2001. It is truely a shame I believe that some of you will look for any reason to engage in a arguement.

Mondo? Does that describe the large gap between your ears? You are one argumentative SOB!

Funny I was thinking the same thing .I don't like arguments as much as you don't.Sorry if I gave that impression, but if we had all the info on Greens "01" from the beginning, none of this bickering would have happened. Some of us were unable to go to the shootout and ask Jerry what was actually done to his truck.Knowledge is wealth..throw us a few coins.Peace!

RedDevil,

Being a consultant, I have to say maybe SVT should have a two truck team --- one white, one red ---- that way there are two test beds.

I know you would have a real problem with that one, and it would probably do miracles for your warranty

2000 or 2001 --- When we restore cars, we look at the build sheet or title. When one gets a title from the dealer, one assumes the car is that make/model/year. In the case where the car was never titled, the serial number and build sheet tells you the year. It really doesn't matter what one puts on the vehicle beyond that point.

This has been a constant argument in the restoration business as to how much of a vehicle must be replaced before it is considered to be "rebodied". I have seen Shelby Mustangs completely built from the Shelby tag and serial number stamped in the left fenderwell. The serial number and Shelby tag defines the car.

My $.02 from Shelbysville.

What makes it different is that it has a non-stock Pro-M mass air and 12 months worth of tuning and development.
