Just wanted to note that the movement is after only having a little more than 400 miles on this truck.

This is crazy!!!

James

PS Thanks again Doug!

I would be very careful welding onto any steel that is a load bearing component. I don't know (but some here might) what the heat treatment for that suspension arm is after forming. It should not be too hard, but it might be a relatively exotic composition.

You might change the material properties enough that the minimum crack size required to start a propagating crack, is reached with the slot that is in there already.

The washers from action 911 are only $50 and you can go back to stock if you want to for some reason.

Question

I was talking to the service manager the dealer (not SVT dealer), he is a personal friend of mine, He is very interested in the control arm bolt problem. Does anyone have any TSB # I can give him to help. I already ordered Herb's washers. He said if he could find it as an admitted known problem, he could probably install them for me along with Ford's fix and do a free alignment. Thanks for any help.
