I didn't think anybody left the Airaid box together. From what I had read here, it was best to basically disassemle it. It did seem to add a couple pounds of boost for me.

I had an airraid and liked it alot. But when I switched to the 90mm MAF I had to get a new filter because the airraid is designed for the 80mm MAF. I bought a filter, which is same quality as PSP and Airraid for around $70 from JDM when I bought their 90mm MAF. For the money you spend on the Airraid, you can practically buy the new 90mm and get the filter too.

I like the JL ram air kit. You will pull the coolest air possible.

all are better than stock IMHO unless you want to "ventilate" your stock box and add a K&N replacement filter like LTNBOLT.
Johnny Lightning's setup get's my vote.

Before the JL club flames me, let me say that I'm running the JL chip and filter and loves them. But I do have a question about the JL Ram-Air kit...
As I understand it, the ram air concept works by forcing cold outside air into the intake. But the JL kit does not enclose the air filter, all the air picked up with the scoop are directed into the end of the filter only. Since the *rest* of the filter is wide open, I'm wondering how much of the air is actually going to the intake as intended, and how much of it are pushed out of the filter?

The JL kit doesn't actually ram the air into the filter, it directly feeds cooler air. Our blower motors pull so much of a vacuum under boost that an enclosed system would hurt performance. The ticket is to pull as much cool air as possible. The JL kit will direct as much as you can get through the small hole in the fenderwell.
