Cool

He Lightning friends,

This GTP_Rules guy is not word the aggravation, just ignore him.
He is only fooling himself.

Lets feel good about Spiro and others that run times below 12.5 Sec ¼ mile good to smoke a Z06 and many other great sport cars.

Hey GTP, if it's illegal to have them in the bed then why didn't I get a ticket when 7(yes 7) cops surrounded me?? Supposedly there was drinking going on(don't know how that happened) in the bed..They made sure we were all 16 and waved us on..YES IT IS LEGAL IN WISCONSIN..It's a state law not a federal...So if you don't know what the hell you're talkin about shut your f*ckin mouth..

Cool

FYI, guys, the Lightning can tow 8400 lbs. I was kind of sweating it myself, since I calculate that my trailer and boat are at least 6500 lbs., maybe 7000 with full tanks, and there's this little inscription molded into the plastic bumper cover saying that the towing capacity is only 5000 lbs. But get this, that only refers to the capacity of the bumper, if you mount your ball in the little hole provided. But, if you carefully examine the trailer hitch, there should be a sticker that says towing capacity 5000 lbs., 8400 lbs. with load distributing hitch. So if you need to tow in excess of 5000 lbs., just hop on over to http://equalizerhitch.com and get one of those puppies, and you are in business. Or you can install a Roadmaster suspension http://activesuspension.com like I did, and I find that more than adequate for my load. And, I can still beat a Durangslow with my boat in tow.

Question Question - F150 Type

All you Ford guys, I have been seeing more and more of a special edition F150 (I'm guessing)....it looks like a Lighning, but it's not, I'm pretty sure it has a decal on the rear quarter such as "SLX" or something....I know there is an "X" in it, that is for sure. What is this edition all about? A poor-man's lighning? Or IS this a lighning I am seeing?

Hi, the letters are STX. It is just another package choice. Little sportier I think. Not much else.

Question

Men - aren't we getting a little testy? Ok - for a truce - let me say that I'll race my 4-door car against any 4-door car and with few exceptions, come out on top. In addition, I can take out most Rustangs with the blower pulley change I made. I really don't dislike L's, just that for my next toy car, I really have a hard time justifying another truck to the wife. She'd much rather cruise in a WS-6 than an F-150 pickup. I did flip-flop for a while also...WS-6 or Lightning....WS-6 or Lightning. Both are great vehicles, but the LS1 just wins out. I know I won't drive either in the winter, so that's not an issue. However, I have always been a Pontiac fan. And, stock-to-stock, an LS1 will take out, barely, a Lightning. So there we have it. Peace, gents.

Once again GTP, you'll have to narrow your criteria for what you can beat. Here's my list of what can beat you, and it's alot greater than you implied

E36 BMW M3's
E55
XJR
S4
540i six speed
GS400
LS400
540iT (Wagon)
S8
S55
750il

And this isn't even a complete list including the really close candidates.

And B4 you start up again, you asked for it and you got it GTP. All my stats work against the SAME test database of Car and Driver

and you're next argument should involve the price point of these cars and the price point of your car. But that is for the GTP board or whatever they call it, not the Lightning board.
