Is this guy sure he smoked a L and not something else? I am not sure his car will smoke the tires!

A modded GTP that's pulling 13.8's might take a stock lightning off the line if it grips first...most stock L's are around that number here...13.8-14.2... I was wondering how our Eaton Brothern GTP's performed when modded.

Just FYI, my first 3-digit speed run in my Bolt was against a WS-6 t-top on Rt80... starting from about 50mph when we cleared traffic, we were dead even until about 120, then he started to pull up on me (he was one car length behind me coming out of traffic). If we hadn't hit more traffic, he probably would have over taken me at about 130mph. This is when I was stock.

At 120mph, the aerodynamics of the WS-6 have a bit of an advantage.

Slap on a smaller pulley (which you guys cannot do), and instantly add 20, 30, or 40 horses depending on pulley size. All it takes is 15 minutes to swap pulleys.

Put the crack pipe down son, that stuff will kill ya.

Don't believe everything you read about how much horsepower you gain from "easy mods". It just don't work that way. No magazine racing allowed on this board.

This guy has a serious exhaust leak thereby causing some serious Dain Bramage.

Bench Racin with Taiwanese vice grips and a claw hammer isn't gonna cut it mister.

I can state for sure that a GTP can NOT beat a Lightning that are both stock, I own both and have taken both to the track. See Sign.

Just had to chime in here.

My truck went 13.89@99 stock, out of the box. Stock filter, & 3/4 tank of 90 octane gas.

Then I took off my muffler, and went 13.603, and went on to run 5 13.6s@100+ out of the following 7 runs. That was when I weighed in a 5040 pounds (3 sandbags)

Too bad you aren't up here, becuase I challenge you to a race and post the a$$ whoppin' video all over the internet like I did this 99 SVT Mustang Cobra.

Here are the pictures, and I got to 95 BTW.

The movies are on my website (quicktime format, click on picture). We ran 3 times and all 3 races are on the sight. The 3rd, HE was on a roll, and couldn't pass me. BLAH BLAH BLAH, wanna race?

I also raced a 95 cobra that night, but he was cool, so I wont kick that dead horse...

Spike:The GTP is a GrandPrix with a 3.8 V-6 with the Eaton M90 blower on it turning out 240HP. Speed limited to 126MPH. Able to eat most minivans alive and an occasional R/T.

98 SVT COBRA.....

GREAT PIC!!!!! ROTFLMAO! That is why I bought a Lightning. To go fast and haul my stuff! Great job!!!

GTP rules.....sounds like you have a great car! Enjoy it! However, there are so many of THOSE great cars on the road that I reach a hundred count on a typical day driving on the highway. So....I chose to drive something that not everyone else has. Remember, there is always someone out there who is a lot faster than you or I.

Have fun and enjoy the fact that we can drive these great vehicles!!

Cool

I don't know how fast they are, but look what i found on my tailgate, after passing one last night maybe my exhaust loosened up the glue on his drivers side decal or something, maybe its defective glue or something, maybe the car is not that fast, and it came off in the jetwash or something

Thumbs up

I think ive just about nailed this one down. I believe he did smoke something, just not a L, it was clearly a typo, what he clearly smoked in his GTP was a "J". Could happen to anyone J-L ....
