Swanson Claims 375hp w/chip & MAF
>Hey Spike Eng.
>I have done over 40 dyno pulls with my
>Lightning over the last 15 months
I nail the throttle every morning getting on the freeway, but I haven't counted how many times.
What does it feel like when you do a dyno pull?

As I understand it the reason we dont talk about spike numbers is because the spike occurs for a 1/2 second or less which will not help you in the Side by side competition. Contrast that to Badbolts dyno with a ~349 Peak ( spike ignored) that he could maintain if he wanted to hold the Rpm at 5200 rpm.
The reason the summary information at the top lists 364 at the peak is because the program simply finds the highest number and posts it. The dyno guy at Dallas Mustang parts used a feature to select the high outside the spike - That was the number that was then displayed in the summary. So if you have a dyno guy with decent software who knows his job or if you understand what the dyno numbers mean when the rubber hits the road then you will ignor any numbers that fall well outside the standard deviation. If you want to see more evidence to question dyno exageration this is a chart I tweaked as a joke some time ago. https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/003029.html
Makes for interesting bench racing.....

Took me a while (kept forgetting dyno chart at home) but here is mine.
The red one is w/out chip the others are 2 slightly different Swanson calibrations (no MAF).

Only 33 posts and still 12hp short! I say its with rare air that anyone can make 375hp with a chip & maf. This kind of rwh should put you into the 12's with traction. Not close, or just about or anyother horse shoe crud. This goes for PSP, SuperChip, Swanson and whatever else is out there. As a general rule I dont belive you can install a chip (any brand), maf & filter and run 12's.. Very few people are in the 12's and most have more mods that this. Yes I know of the exceptions JL & LQ. With 375 rwh look for repeatable trap speeds in the 106 mph range. So the challege remains to anyone running (any brand) chip & maf to show us a real 375hp. Probably have to hook up the garden hose to the IC to get there. Where's Betty when you need her?
Moses is tops and all alone so far with 378hp with just a chip and maf. Moses your making those guys who can't get out of the 13.5 range with any mod they can by feel very, bad.
