Question Will it Damage my "L" if i don't use it regularly?

Hi
I have a 2003 Lightning Silver and live in the UK it now has 16k miles on the clock and i have had it from new.
Due to work and general life I don't get to use the L as much as i would like as it is purely my hobby car and my baby, quite often it will sit 2 to 3 weeks without being started or used, then i will use it for a couple of days then put her away again. I change the oil every 3500 miles but i did let it lapse to 5000 last time and i use mobil1 0-40.. it starts up no problem and drives like it was driven an hour ago even wen it left for 2 or 3 weeks but im worryed coz its not used more regularly it may damage it! my machanic says no it wont, but will things corrode or things break? Any sujestions? Many thanx Sasha xx

My 02 only had 15 - 16 K when I sold it 6/6/6
Ok so I went through 3 motors
not what you wanted to hear ???
hehehehee that was my fault dont sweat it...

The bottom line is the original motor did 99.9% of those miles and it drove and ran as awesome the day I took it apart as the day it was born.
You should try and use it a little more often (when possible), even if only for an hour or so each time. I'm lucky cause I go home for work so even in the winter if we catch a nice dry day I'll take it back to work at lunch time and then I do some parkway driving to go pick JR up, then some Blvd cruising to get us both back home. It's a nice little ride and I do it at least 2-3 times a week if not more. This way I get to use it daily yet still keep minimum miles on it

To tell you the truth the SRT8 Hemi sits a hell of a lot more than the L these days

You'll be fine driving it every 2-3 weeks. I just don't know how you can go that long without your Lightning fix. You must have a stable of seriously nice rides if it's not your first choice off the key peg. LOL

Only thing I would suggest is that you don't keep it full of fuel, if you're not driving it that often. That way you are fueling more often. I wouldn't want to have 3 or 4 month old fuel going through my engine.

M3's are sweet. I'm sure it's more fun in tight traffic, too. Nice choice.

Thanx

Yes good poin bout the fuel, thank you.. ill remember that.. Now winter is apon us here in the ****ty UK i will use the L even less as i dont like getting it wet and specially not salty on the roads as it doent have any underseal like on UK spec cars and if i drive it ill have to spend all weekend underneith it cleaning it lol. the M3 is cool its my 2nd one and in the UK the L stands out more than u can know as we dnt have any big US cars here so its not good to leave places or to go shopping with as it uses up 2 spaces minimum and people forver looking at it, which is good but i dnt trust leaving it places lol.. The M3 is kool but its small and nimble and i can park it in supermarket without massive attention if you know what i mean..

Hey there

I would not worry about not using the truck too much. It's Ford Built Tough anyway
Just keep a check on the basic maintainance things.

As far as corroision goes.
If you use it on UK roads in winter (Salt used to keep ice down) just pressure wash to ensure you keep it clean underneath.

I make the Pompey meets during the summer so maybe meet up with the crew from Surrey next year.

Always on the look out for ladies to keep the naughty boys in line.

Happy Christmas

You could use one of these if it sits for a long time. I keep one on my L as it usually only gets driven on weekends and the original battery has lasted 6 years now.
