Question What are the chances ??

What are the chances of selling my truck? I'm thinking of get it a harley-davidson. A heritage softtail(white or chrome yellow). My coworkers have bikes, and my car sales man has been stopping by house on his softtail. Has realy put a bug in me for a bike. I was looking at jap bikes(GSX1300R Hayabusa), and Buell. But my oldlady said(took her with me to look at buell) she would rather me get a Harley. Since they hold value(and don't go as fast). So she started me down the path of the high dolar bikes.
Anyway my truck has 16k miles, new tires on front(thanks to road trash),Black(fastest color),tinted windows(formula one), droped rear shackles, and has been taken care of. Synthic oil every 3k, trans fluid exchange at 12k. Was thinking of asking 27k for her. Is that to much?? Where should I advertise, to get results.

20 years from now you'll try to rebuy the same old 99-00 lightning for $30k adjusted!

This is a keeper.

I raced a really hot Mustang yesterday, loaping and all.

Kicked his @ss 3 times.

Mustang: I’ll show ya, sure.

Me: it’s go time.

Next

Mustang: another go = loose!

Mustang: I would like to see IF I could do it from the line.

Me: I never heard so many 4-letter words with kicking some @ss!

And you want to sell this for a piece of rice, go ahead!

What about the Yamaha R1? I heard that's the fastest street bike out there right now.

Just sold my Harley last year so I could buy a 67 corvette (modified 502/502). Although whenever I hear a Harley go by I have to admit I look up and yearn, I am glad I traded it. Bottom line, it is fun for a couple of years until you realize wind blowning in your face at 60 mph is not fun, bugs do hurt when they hit you in the face, and the sun gets hot as hell after 20-30 minutes. But for those first 2 years, the grass was definately greener on the other side, until you start getting your *** wiped by the faster jap bikes. Then it all goes down hill from there, you start looking for turbo chargers, bigger engines etc. Good luck, its a fun road to travel, but I am glad I have already done that. I will bet you that within 3 years you will have sold the bike. With that in mind, are you sure you want to get rid of the Lightning? Anyway you can do both. A friend of mind once said, "Why should I worry about how much debt I am in, if the banks a stupid enough to loan me the money, let them worry!!" Not sure how wise that is, but it sounds good to me!!

Whoa, major mistake!! Never let your wife read your messages. I would like to retrack my last sentence about "letting the banks worry about how much debt you are in." The better half has quickly reminded me how much debt we are in because of our (my) vehicles and that it is no joking matter!! Have to go before she returns, spend, spend, spend!!!

Dude, don't sell your L for a Harley. Those bikes have so little power; I think you'll be disappointed with the difference in power between the bolt and the bike. If you have to get a bike, I'd suggest getting it as your second or third vehicle. I've got a MB CLK430, and I'd like to get a Yamaha R1, Hayabusa, Honda CBR, or something of that school. Keep the L and get a cheaper bike- then you can have double the fun, and when necessary, throw the bike in the L's bed and go!

Any wife who tells you to get a Harley is probably worth listening to. To me, cruising all weekend w/my honey on back sounds like a blast. Bike choice is all about what is most fun for you.

To William Mallo,
I am a Harley mechanic here in Illinois, beleave me I know the fun about having a Harley I have had about 10 in my 20 years of riding.I just picked up my new 2000 Silver Lightning and the truck just ROCKS would not trade it for any thing I don't care what my ol'lady say's. Also I have a 98'Electraglide Standard, which by the is about the best bike for the money.every body that buy's Softail's end up getting an Electraglide any way!my bike is paid for,my Lightning isn't.I guess what I'm telling you is don't get rid of your L just because you want a bike, just save up for a bike and keep your Lightning have the best of both worlds just my 2 cents.

p.s.
It might take a while but you'll like it better in the long run......

It is a hard call. I have not made mind up for shure. I do love my truck. I would get rid of my stang. But haven't had long enought, not to be up side down(got in feb). I do like the heritage softtail, I grew up thinking that is what a harley should look like. I like that this year the softtail motors have gotton a counter-rotating balancers(makes run smother). So back the what I asked. Does that sound like a good price, that someone would go for ? Or is that to much? Where is good place to advertise if I do it? Thanks
