magnalow 12468 and high flow cats?

As you guys may have known, I recently added a Magnalow 12468 muffler. The muffler shop did a really good job installing it and re-aligning the tips the really look as good as stock. The muffler sound really good right up to full throttle then it looses that nice rumble.

I have enough money to purchase high flow cats but not a cat back. Has anyone installed high flow cat's with this muffler? If so how did it sound? I really like the 12468 up until WOT then it looses that grunt and sound like a sort of flapping in the wind.

Again has anyone installed high flow cats with the muffler? Let me know.

I have a Magnaflow Catback on my truck, but before I installed it, I removed the rear cats on the stock midpipe and that alone made it a lot louder, even with the stock muffler setup. I don't sneek up on anyone with this setup. At WOT, it is rather loud in my opinion.

Fowl - I had the Magnaflow catback, and liked the sound on the stock truck, but when I upgraded to Dynatech headers and high-flow cats, the WOT flapping sound you described got 10 times worse. I have since upgraded to the JDM Silver Bullet system, and it sounds awesome, although it's quite a bit louder than the single Maggy. .....oh, and the tips are bitchin'

I have that muffler and dynatech long tubes with their hi flow cats. It's louder than it was, but not as loud as a bud's with long tubes, high flows, and a silver bullet. No flapping noise, sounds good.

I agree. I have ordered a pair of SS tip to change the stock ones. I am still wondering if I should put on th high flow cats and then see what happens.

Did you put on the long tubes before or after the high flow cats. I am leaning towards trying the high flow cats with the muffler. By the way, do you have a sound clip?

Sorry, no sound clips. Truck is hibernating for the winter now. The longtubes and high flows went in at the same time. The single Magnaflow was replaced by the Silver Bullet about 3-weeks later.

First I put on the muffler, with stock manifolds and 4 stock cats. Sounded good, louder than stock, but not real loud. I then deleted the front two cats, and it got a little louder, not much. Then I went for the full meal deal and got the dynatech headers with their mids with high flows. Again it got louder and this time a little deeper tone. Sorry, no sound clips.

I have a magnaflow 12468 on my truck, no rear cats, and 2-3.5" tips.. kicked out Lightning style infront of rear tire.

I dont have a blower on mine, yet, but its pretty loud.

I'm actually looking at ways to make it quieter in the cab.
