The truth is always fair. Lies are not fair, be they from a customer or a vendor.

So how do you define a miscommunication then?

A lie with no credit given to the source?

A lie waiting for the truth to fully expose it?

Can we judge who has lied about what fairly? Did any of us witness what did or did not occur? We only have our opinions based on (obviously) preconceived notions.

People post their experiences here. Some are good, some are bad. People only tend to remember the bad as the dialogs are ALWAYS more tantilizing.

While these threads do **** me off for the most part, they do seem to have an effect. The original poster is getting a free sensor and Cliff is getting his E-fan issue worked out.

Cliff's issue would still be an issue without this thread, so the original poster NOT dealing with JDM over the phone and keeping this whole deal on the DL, would have left Cliff with his problem unattended.

Bottom line - people will like who the like and hate who they hate. They will try (unsuccessfully) to bring the whole world around to their opinion, but the opposing side has the same convictions.

Sorry, but that's my ramble...

Such Bull. Cliff made a post and numberous people, including myself responded to him. If non of that helped, and email didn't work, PICK UP THE TELEPHONE!!!!!

Why are people so afraid of the damn thing. It's been around for years and years. Email has become a last resort for dealing with any problems with my buisness and vendors. It's become easy, however, it is just to easy for people to over look an email. Sometimes it ends up in a junk mail folder or is just blocked. When you you pick up the phone and talk one on one, there is no excuses and problems get taken care of. Just my opinion.

Interesting...I have drawn the line in the sand pertaining to this vendor. I will NOT budge. To each his own and I applaud those who defend a vender but it is still based upon thier experiences. Unfortunately mine was happenstance, which was an unfavorable first impression. To me first impression cements policies and procedure regarding commercial practice.Bottom line Ce la Vie!(sp)

So Doug, it seems AT&T is trashing a lot of peoples
emails. And since MOST people don't look in the
BOUNCED return message they ASSUME that the
problem is a bad email address when the problem
is that any mail from them is getting blacklisted.

Is that about it? So what your saying is that ANY
mail from JDM to the INSIGHTBB.COM domain will
bounce?

Thanks for your *cough* INSIGHT ... < grin >

I don't disagree with you, but you have overlooked some positives.

1. E-mail allows me to communicate with a vendor when I get home from work, which might be in the middle of the night East Coast time. I can then review the response at my leisure when I get home the next night.

2. E-mail allows the vendor to do whatever research is required to intelligently respond, whereas a phone call might catch him off guard.

3. E-mail allows me to know for sure that I communicated everything that needed to be communicated.

4. And last, but not least, e-mail creates a paper trial in case things go sideways.

In a case that I am working on, there are about 150,000 e-mails in evidence. There are zero voice mail messages or notes from telephone calls (other than e-mails about the calls).

I'm not saying that there is no place for phone calls. When things get complicated, e-mail can be a very inefficient means of communication. But it is still my preferred method of vendor communication.

+1 ... I have never had any trouble with any other vendor, just JDM.
Hell, you can even find Sal on IRC most times ... If you know where to look.

Not sure if you are trying to be sarcastic or not - Another problem with email is no inflection...

But the facts are that anyone using an ISP that uses the same blacklist yours does will NOT get email from JDM

Blacklists are not that uncommon and servers go on and off blacklists all the time - My gmail account was on a server that was or is on a blacklist.

You comment is correct - people simple dont read the error messages - Im happy they dont, it significantly improves my standard of living ....

Doug is right on the money.

I'm an email administrator at my company and deal with problems like this all the time. There is so much spam out there that everyone runs spam filters now. An email address or domain can be blocked for little reason if it's suspected of spamming.

Around 75 to 80% of all the email we receive in a day are blocked. It's almost shocking to look at the report our spam server generates providing info on blocked and allowed emails.

Bottomline is we tell everyone an email can not be guaranteed delivery once it leaves our network and hits the internet. Every now and then we will see and email disappear into a blackhole with no undeliverable message. I found users Outlook dumping mail into their junk filter for no good reason even after it made it through our spam filter.

I think you get the jist of it now.

Well, once again F150Online Peeps come through. I got an Email from
TripodRacing (Joe) and he offered to send me both circuit breakers
that he had laying around.

Thanks, Joe ...
