I too was gonna' sit this thread out but I gotta' say a couple of things.
MY on again off again girlfriend is Phillippino,so dealing w/ racism is an ongoing thing for us.I really don't think that is releavent though. What I do think is releavent is that around here most "ricers"(I'll catch hell from someone about that ) are all show,no go. There are few that have the extra ponnies but they DO NOT advertise,they like being "sleepers". The ones w/ all the dress up crap can't back it up.They are the ones I can't stomach,it's not their cars,it's the mentality.Being I am not to far removed from the avg age of most "ricers" (there's that word again ) I cannot fathom what is going on in there minds.I do think a few of them are quite cool in there own way,would I do that to a car? No. Do I think for the most part they are funny ? "HELL YEAH!" Will I continue to poke fun at most of them? I think so.
Sort of on subject here,I got stomped stop to stop by a new buddy of mine that owns a R-X7 TT(for sale,$22000),it's wicked fast.Not one single "sushi"(new term instead of r!cer) mark on it . Some "sushier" asked it was a Viper! Are you kidding!?!

Oh my God. I go to Houston for one weekend to see my Rice driving boyfriend and y'all resort to this to keep eachother busy??? Hehe Take it from me, the Hawaiian, Filippino, Portuguese, Korean , Irish, German girl with the White Lightning and the Mexican Rice driving boyfriend...If it's an L, relate to it, if it's a sorry excuse for a hot rod with too many damn stickers and graphics and tint and not enough horse power, point and laugh, but if it is quick and can hang, show it respect...no matter who powers it. I am partial to Ford, but I was raised right....HAHA j/k on that last part.

Hey you know whats funnier than anything....the big autometer tach sitting on top of the dash right in the line of sight.HAHAHAHAHAHA got to laugh at that. Or when they have a nice set of rims in the rear and some beat up spare tire do nuts in front.hehehehe. Or how bout a civic with a big standout sticker that reads POWERED BY HONDA lol...tell ya what the cars that come out of my buddys shop are definate sleepers...like I said before just listen to the car next to you. If you can here the turbo spool up or if your sitting at the light and the guys smilin at you ..be ready to go home disappointed..the little imports gunna have a snack. Hey anyone got a powered by ford sticker on their L ? hehehehe

 

I think the funniest is the "designer" fire extinguisher to go along with the plush interior. Gotta keep it nice and shiny ya'know?

Hey CptReKaHo,

I'm not sure if you started this post as a result of my post titled "rice burners-tons of smoke and no go", but if it was I just have several comments.

First of all I wrote the post not understanding where these guys are coming from bringing a car that was not intended to be fast and then creating a smoke cloud like there was no tomorrow as if to indicate their cars have tremendous amounts of horsepower and that they need to heat up the tires so bad to be able to hook up--obviously these 2 drivers did not need to stage up like that. It appears to me as if they were just trying to attract alot of attention. Well they got it at the waterbox, but there were many flaming comments from the crowd when they posted their less than impressive 18 second times. Now one point I didn't make on the post was that there were 2 Supra twin turbos, that ran absolutely impressive times, but these guys didn't try to get attention in the waterbox, they got the attention by there time runs. If you look at my post, I specifically wrote "But I guess to each their own. In fairness to others, some may not understand why we drive our L's, but then again, if they ever got behind the wheel of one, they'd know why". So I wrote the post from a non understanding viewpoint, but said to each their own. Didn't write the post to flame anyone, just wrote from a non understanding view point. I think I can state my opinion on a bulletin board and I'm providing info to other Lightning owners on this Lightning board. I did not go to a "Ricer" board and start flaming anyone over there. In fact, I've never been to a "ricer" board, because I have not interest in it. I've read several posts on this board about how bad Lightnings are flamed over on the "Ricer" boards. Well, I've got more constructive things to do with my life than hear about that, and then go over to their board and start talkin smack. You have come to this board and labeled us as "rednecks". Well, I've been on this board for several months now and this board seems to be very unique compared to others; the people on this board appear to be highly educated, professional, well spoken individuals, who seem to methodically and logically plan and plot there every move on the Lightnings. I don't think there are any "Rednecks" as you put it, in what appears to be in a derogatory fashion.

Anyhow, no flaming intended back to you, but I just wanted to state my opinion (which I believe I am entitled to on this board, as well as any other).

I hope that the "smack like" knowledge you laid upon us will bring us closer in harmony w/ our "sushier"(a new more politically correct term) brethern. We are all car/truck people first and foremost and should "L.E.A.R.N" to celebrate our differences as well as look for our similarities.
