Does Enron own the Gas stations now?

It's 1.49 for Amoco premium where I live.

I hope it does go to $2.00 a gallon. Just think of the less traffic to deal with.....PLUS as an added bonus the local Law Enforcement will have to cut back on patrolling

================== F L A S H =================

This just in ...

Major oil dealers are reporting a rush on their stations following
the announcement of a rumor by a famous forum moderator on
F150 Online. Said moderator has been purported to state on
an open forum that "Gas will be $2.00 per gallon shortly".

Much the same as the Johnny Carson toilet paper scare of the
sixties, this statement by a respected individual is expected
to send the price per gallon skyrocketing, and LONG lines at
the gas stations.

Stay tuned for more late breaking stories......

LMAO.....what I wanna know is how in the heck does someone have enough time on they're hands to dig back through 3 years of posts to bring these threads back to life????

Oh well, since someone went to all the effort to find it, here is my .02 worth. After we are done nuking the oil fields in Iraq, what do you suppose gas will cost per gallon?

The bright side for those that live around this area is that it might make it hard on the minivan mom's around here. Gawd, I'd pay 10 bucks a gallon if we could just get half the rude SUV mom's off our streets.

all I can say is watch Exxon/Mobil qaurterly reports,I can gaurentee that they will be far above last years...of course with the strike in Venezualia(where we get 40% of our oil) and bush has done nothing about that and the war coming on ...he's trying to creat an artificial economny where it gets so bad so fast and then he goes in and kicks out Saddam,gets the oil fields back up(what do you think the troops will be protecting first), steps up to the plate with the venezualia issue and gets that resolved and then the price of oil tumbles so fast that OPEC can't meet fast enough to stop it and the economy,with cheap energy and a renew sense of self fires off( sorta of like a time machine in fast forward) kicks off with a roar.....what really eeerrkkss me is that the europeans, who get 80 % of thier oil from the gulf region,seem so reluctant to get rid of Saddam and don't want to contribute to it..but when it's over and they are spending less on thier oil,you won't hear a thank you from them

Well put. There are huge supplies in Russia. Alaska and the midwest have a lot of oil. The problem is that oil is a huge political and econimical force in our society today and the mid- east pipeline has been turned on and alternative sources can not come on line as quick as the supply would be needed. It would take a gradual process.

I have worked on an oil rig more than once and I would feel a hell of a lot better feeding an American family with my gas $'s for oil here vs some mid eastern ****.

Now let's go figure out how to adapt a supercharger on our grandkids hydrogen / oxygen / fuel cell / electric motor powered vehicle! With H20 coming out the tailpipe!

I worked for tens years for halliburton(please hold the **** Chaney flames,the only well head he was ever on was probably the test well out back of Otis Enginerring in Dallas)....theres a lot of oil on this continent...the only reason we don't exploit it is because the arabs would start embargoing oil everytime they would want a increrase in the price..a lesson we learned all to well in the 70's when we were importing a lot less oil vs. domestic than we do now...think of the tourtise and the hare...we're the tourtose the arabs the hare....when thier oil runs out,it runs out period...we'll be sitting with nuclear power,geothermal power,hydrogen power,hydroelectric power,wind power,solor power and enough oil to keep the gears greased for a long time...the goverment does consider oil an stratigic inecative(SIC) and incourages industry and business to treat it as such...doubt it? look at the quarterly profits Exon/Mobil pulls in..they hav'nt been pulled into an anti trust lawsuit by the goverment yet and probably never will...or at least until we start depending on our own oil...and as far as the arabs..well they'll be back to camel power and begging for aid from us...peace

I just got this chain email letter...

===quote===

Let's all commit to not support terrorists any longer:
Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia.
Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil
from the Saudis. Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time
I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill
me, my family, and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you
to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from.
Major companies that import Middle Eastern oil
(for the period 9/1/00 -- 8/31/01).
> Shell................ 205,742,000 barrels
> Chevron/Texaco....... 144,332,000 barrels
> Exxon/Mobil......... 130,082,000 barrels
> Marathon............. 117,740,000 barrels
> Amoco................. 62,231,000 barrels

If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION!
Here are some large companies that do not import
Middle Eastern oil:
>Citgo 0 barrels
> Sunoco 0 barrels
> Conoco 0 barrels
> Sinclair 0 barrels
> BP/Phillips 0 barrels
> Hess 0 barrels

All of this information is available from the
Department of Energy and can be easily documented. Refineries located in the
U.S. are required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.
They report on a monthly basis.
Keep this list in your car; share it with friends.
Stop paying for terrorism.............

===end quote===
