Cool

Car & Driver says the L is the #1 gas hog they've tested at 10 mpg. We beat out the Ferrari 360 Modena F1 at 11 mpg. That said, who cares? We're still driving Lightnings!

Zoomer

Were they driving it underwater ? I am getting 13+ mpg and have been real heavy into the supercharger, A LOT. And my truck has less than 700 miles on it. My gut says this truck could easily get 16 mpg or more if driven with love. I wont ever see 16mpg but i feel confident it will get it

Hey-
My understanding is that alot of people are going to have what is called a gas out. They are planning on not buying any gas from 3/7 tothru 3/9. they did something like this in canada last year and it help bring the price of gas down. If enough people do this here it just might make them change their minds about raising the price higher. I live in texas and you have to drive a long way to get anywhere and these trucks are not the beast on gas but I love them anyway.

Highest I have paid around here is 1.79 and I don't see it getting any better. Just took a trip down south and it was about 10 cents cheaper through kentucky and tenn.

The L is getting between 14 and 15 mpg. Not too bad.

If you want to point fingers concerning the supply and price of gasoline, you might start with Al Gore and Bill Clinton.

There is estimated to be at least 30 billion barrels of oil under Alaska that has not yet been tapped. But,in order to get at it, drilling must be done on Federal lands. And, even though the area to be drilled was just a tiny fraction of the Federal land holdings, Gore and Clinton defeated the idea in the name of conservation of the environment.

Got this information out of this mornings newspaper editorial.

Probably does not matter anyway. The oil companies would most likely sell most of the oil to the Japs.

On the bright side, there may be an increase in the supply of Lightnings. Some present owners, and would be owners, may not be able to afford driving them with the high premium
gasoline costs, and will end up selling then or not buying them in the first place.

Also, the notion of tapping into the US strategic petroleum reserve is not a good idea. That is kept for real crisis situation and not a price spike. Also, the reserve is down from 100 day supply to just 55 day supply. Do we thank Gore and Clinton again?

That is what they are doing up there right now, selling it overseas. With the natural gas anyway (I think), produced on the Kenai penninsula. I used to work as an intern at a Native Corp who had holdings in the area, Anyway, the board decided to do away with that department when my internship came to an end, I was also one of the only Native shareholders in the department. We brought in most of the money, I am pissed, now they have some ditz heading the information that I used to keep track of. Man I can't wait until I get my education and put everyone there in their place, I was aggressive there, because I could. Pretty cool when you are native and a shareholder and they pretty much can't fire you. It also helps when your mom works there, but that just opens the door. She saw my impact. Sorry, just ranting.

Tundra, the newspaper article I was referring too also mentioned that the local native population wanted the drilling, etc., to go forth. They needed the revenues for schools, housing, etc.

All this "adjusted for inflation" stuff is crap! Everything doesn't have to follow those guidelines! If they did, wouldn't computer prices be $10,000? instead they are the lowest they ever been! It's just an excuse they use to justify the price. As for the Texas oil fields not pumping, I just read an article where they are being paid not to pump oil. Why, It didn't say.

$3.00 Ouch!
Your only way out is for The Grand Caymans to go to war with a oil producing country.
(Pick one you can beat)
