Mine was last done at True Blue, but they don't exist anymore, so I will go where Ed goes... Probably have to drive to Virginia, although Haywoods Custom Speed shop just got their SCT software in, so who knows...

To All:
I caught wind of this story through the grapevine here in AZ. I don't believe he posts on AZLOC (unless it's under a different name) or should I say that he didn't post about it over there.

To Koop:

Sorry to hear that man, that sucks that she popeed. I am sure the new block will handle all that you're throwing at it much better.

That was what convinced me he deserved the award. No focking way this guy had a second L and didn't already brag about it. Something isn't right here...I would like to nominate this guy for POSER of the year award also.

How about you showing us some kind of proof that you own 2 Lightnings, i also agree 100% that if he had 2 Lightnings he would have bragged about it a lot sooner than now.

I have an 01, you can see posts I made about it months AGO!! I just bought the 04 because I love these trucks! I want to make this clear, I DO NOT CARE that the motor let go! It is not a big deal!! I was planning on it letting go, I just figured it would be farther down the road. Lucky for me, a new motor does not break the bank.... Hopefully the new motor combo will be a better fit and hopefully make some serious horsepower. If you want more proof that I have two of these trucks, I would be happy to posts pics of them together, or you can call SVC and ask them how many L's I have. Enough already, this is getting rediculous... I thought I would just make a little post about the motor letting go, if I would have known how stupid this whole thing would have turned, I never would have done so.

PS....
I tore the motor down today. Two of the rods came completely off of the crank and are now just little bits. Two other rods snapped off at the bolts. I lost a total of four rods, and four pistons (one of which basically vaporized), and punched holes in both sides of the block. Luckilly, the valves were down, and the heads were not even touched by the pistons! I will post pics later! The pistons do not show any signs of detonation, and the motor looked as if it was running pretty rich from the color of the pistons.

One more thing, for those of you who do not know me, my L's are not my only vehicles, let me list the rest... Hopefully this will put the whole notion that I do not own 2 of them to rest. Here is the list

2004 Lamborghini Gallardo
2005 Audi S4 (Wifes Car)
2004 Cadillac Escalade
2004 Lightning
2001 Lightning

If you would like pics, I would be happy to take them tomorrow!!!

Word of advise...be sure to use a different tuner on your next motor!

I don't care if you have 20 lightnings.. I just feel bad whenever I read a post about one of the engines letting go.

I hope you have it back on the road sometime soon!

Keep us posted.

EXACTLY what I am wondering. If you are running some C12 (108 octane), Turbo Blue (110 octane), C16, etc running 16+ psi on a stock block KB is one thing. If you are trying to do that on pump 93 you are only asking for trouble sooner or later. 18+ psi on a stock block and a ported Eaton on pump gas is even asking for a ventilated block.

If it was pump gas it was only 91 octane, we dont have the luxury of 93 out here in AZ.

I honestly do not know what gas was being used. I dropped the truck off a couple of days prior. That is when they installed the different pulley setup and the new upper C & L intake. I would assume that they would know better than to push the truck w\ pump gas.... I usually hang around when they dyno my trucks, but this time I could not leave work to see it! Even on pump gas, 7 degrees of timing even at 19PSI it should not have ran a lean condition, then again, I was not their, so who knows?? I will have the new motor installed on Thursday or Friday!
