Hey Six,

These kits have been installed on numerous trucks with both objective and subjective results posted. Most of the aftermarket filter kits have documented improvements in HP, ET and Boost. There is some question regarding the SHM metering kits but it mostly revolved around the cost to benefit ratio and the straight K&N flat filter shows virtually no improvements since the filter element isn't the problem with our intakes.

Go back and search the posts, I think you'll find all the answers you need.

Haven't we beat this dead horse long enough?

Cool

BABolt,

So far the Baumannator has proven questionable on the E4OD and I'd imagine it would prove equally so for the new trucks. It does run a AODE well, though, and there's always a transmission swap option.

ANYTHING can be done with the proper application of time, money, and a Sawzall, but I really don't think a DFI or SEFI8LO is going to be in the best interest of "Joe Lightning" when trying to overcome the increased boost vs timing and fuel delivery issue (which is were the DFI convo started). I think probably a Boost-A-Spark or one of the gradually emerging ignition modules which work with coil-on-plug with a boost retard is a much more appropriate solution in conjuction with perhaps a FMU of some sort.

Just my opinions, of course.

Later!

Thank you for your reply. I have seen DFI and the Baumannator on an AODE working in combination (very well too). I did not have any information on the E4OD though so that is some good information. You are correct about the time and money, boy the "sawzall" scares me a little . As you realize this is just a feasibility study so I am greatful for your input and hope that I may bounce future ideas off of you. Thanks again.

Whatman - That was an acknowledgement that I learned something from this discussion and have changed my views on the topic. Discussion is a good thing. It brings us all to a common understanding.

Thanks for everyone's input.

Let's hear it for less restriction/more boost!
