6 g's for a turbo kit is a tad pricey IMO. I want to go turbo for sure, but I'm thinking there's going to be a cheaper alternative.

Can I see the pics? I have the first kit on order and it isn't done yet so I'd like to see what looks weird.

It is $5795, but in addition to the turbo, wastegate, blow-off and all intake and exhaust plumbing you also get twin electric fans, coated headers and a custom sheetmetal intake manifold. Add up those things and the price is much more reasonable.

Coated headers are about $800+. Fans about $300. Custom sheetmetal intake are $2500+. It adds up to me.

I will call Monday but I don't like that intake either, looks funky in that pic. I'll let you guys know what he says.

Yeah, it just looks like the intake Sal fabbed up. He took the snout off the S/C and covered it with metal. I really can't see that costing 2500 dollars.

WOW, the fan price is about right but the other two u're getting raped on. i've gotten an ENTIRE kit coated for under half of that price. take a 0 of the price of the intake and thats how much it cost to make. i'm not saying they aren't goin to make HUGE power but the prices are very high

You can buy brand new coated headers for a Lightning for under $400? Post them up, they'll sell a bunch!!! I didn't say the cost to coat a set of headers, I said you get a new set of headers that are coated and designed specifically for the turbo.

As far as the intake, call Hogans or Wilson intake and ask them the price of a sheetmetal intake for a V8; you will get a $2500. quote.

I am not paying this much for these items, they come in the kit. But these are real-world prices that are easily verifiable and contribute to the pricing of the kit.

those are intake manifolds with runners, something like our lower intake, the part that is fabricated for a turbo is just an upper intake u use the stock L. intake still

Gotcha. So it ought to be worth as least as much as a JLP intake, it's at least that hard to make. So say $700 plus $800 for headers and $300 for fans, so the kit is about $3995. Still sounds like a fair price. I'm not saying I don't wish it was cheaper but there's a lot of fabrication involved and more pieces than a standard turbo kit involved here.

to put things into perspective, i have just over $8000 into the Paxton Novi 2000 install onto my truck. and thats just the custom upper intake, custom bent tubing, and the blower bracket and blower headunit. and the other little misc. stuff like the mondo blowoff valve, relocation of a bunch of parts. and thats not even taking into account the money i have into the longtubes and fuel system. you guys are living in a dream world if you think a turbo kit will cost you less than $4000 atleast not til there are atleast 50-100 sold to get back all the r&d costs.
