I just looked under my truck. There's no way you could bottom out that pipe. The bump stops would stop it way before it hit. A speed bump wouldn't be an issue as it is directly under the front crossmember of the frame and would rise with the tires.

On a well-lowered truck that didn't have the bump stops right it could be an issue if the suspension compressed a lot. Still wouldn't hit on speed bumps.

what about going up a steep driveway at an angle so the front doesn't scrape?

i wouldn't want to risk it. otherwise i'll bet it is a nice system. i considered buying their headers for my future project, but they were a lot of $$$.

Sals old truck has a very large 4" down tube under it. Ive never bottomed out on the pipe and I have a steep driveway that I hit at an angle all of the time.

how does the electric fan go in front of the radiator? the A/C condenser is there? How much power is the kit good for. I'm all for turbos, but for the price it doesn't seem like a well thought out kit, just looks like something thrown together, thats just my opinion and I may be wrong. You would think for that price you would get a air to air cooler, and a better layout of the parts in the engine bay. I know its been asked before but how much is the stock air/water exchanger good for? JL and JDM are up at 800rwhp with the stock unit right? but thats with nitrous I think. what good is a turbo kit that can make 700rwhp if you can't use the stock heat exchangers? Just my opinion don't take it to heart.

no pun intended but that kit looks like a ghetto rig. I hope the final kit is all shined up, but I don't see how that can improve it much. if it works and you don't car about the engine bay looking like a junk yard then go for it. Like it has been said, at that price they could have engineered it better.

It bolts in front of the condenser. The stock intercooler can support over 700 rwhp.

This is not the way the kit comes, explained that with the pics. This is the mockup. All pieces are powdercoated or high temp coated in your choice of colors. I'll post pics of mine when it's installed; it will not look like a junk yard!

i understand your post. I just think the entire layout looks like someone with 2 left hands engineered it. I would not expect you to buy some rusty pipes, after all you do own an L so you must have a head on your shoulders. I wish you luck as I know I will be jealous regardless how it turns out because you will be faster than me!

If I had designed it I would not have built the sheet metal intake like that, but I reserve final judgement until I see it personally. But it looks like a square box so mine will be powder coated black to minimize the look. I would have built it to also replace the upper intake with one nicely shaped intake with some curves and angles. Maybe I'll have Hogans make one for me if I really hate it.

i think the JLP intake mated to the box would make it look 100xs better, especially if you polish the pipes and throttle body.

I was going to polish the stock upper for now and the throttle body is a polished Accufab. The tubing and headers are in the polished ceramic coating. I may go to the JLP upper later if I don't re-make the "box". I have the JLP now on my KB and it worked great.

So what kindof timeline are they talking about now? Are you going to be the "test fit" person? Wondering if a person was to order now would a kit be built side by side with your kit(maybe not take as long)

You need to call Dalton. The mock up is supposed to be done the end of this week. Then they start the final fabrication. It's supposed to be done in 1.5-2 weeks.

In production form if it puts down good numbers and is reliable I could care less about how it looks under the hood.
