Talking MM & FF Test '99 Lightning

Just picked up the October issue of "Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords" and read their test of a red '99 Lightning. They tested the truck in May at E-Town. Temps ranged from 70 to 82F. Humid. Light headwind. Test weight w/driver 4715 lbs. Results:

13.708 @ 98.25
13.821 @ 99.21
13.860 @ 98.99
13.794 @ 99.89
Slowest run in low 14.1's.

They think a colder day would have given them a 13.50.

They also stated that they believe with the help of a chip, a good cold air package, cat-back exhaust system and 4.10 gears, it might dip into the 12's.

MM&FF ended the article with the following quote: "If you're thinking about buying a new performance vehicle and the Lightning is on your short list, let us offer you the strongest three-word endorsement you're likely to hear: We want one."

I think they liked it.

Or, maybe the ringer was the white one on "Trucks!" that pumped out over 321 stock RWHP on their dyno.

A-Lightning,If you took ten new 99'Lightning to the scales and all of them had the same amount of fuel, there would be a differance in there weight.I took mine to a certified scale with a full tank of fuel and its weight was 4560 lbs.
