Wix Fuel Filter

Hey guys, I just did a search on fuel filters and found a post where someone installed a Wix #33595.

I went to the Autozone website, and it says the correct Wix number is 33296... does anyone know which one is correct?

I plan on changing mine today, but I bought the Purolator, and I saw a post saying that this one did not fit correctly. If not the Wix, what kind of filters to you guys recommend? I would get the Ford part, but the dearlership parts dept. is closed today.

Sammy: I use the K&N Gold filter(p/n 1011--I think). You'll be glad when you try and take it off as it has a 1" 'nut' on the bottom of the ffilter plus, it's rated higher than most others.

My original filter lasted 40,000+ miles. The replacement WIX filter lasted only about 7,000 miles before it needed replacement. Went back to the Ford filter last week.

Actually, the K&N OIL filter part number is 2010. I have a stack of 'em in my garage.

USE ONLY MOTORCRAFT FUEL FILTERS!

Well it is a fact, the Purolator fuel filter that I purchased will not fit in the mounting bracket. The length appears to be ok, but it is much bigger around than the factory filter. I also doublechecked the number, and I got the exact one that the book in the store said would fit!

Anyway, I am going to the dealership today to pick up a Motorcraft filter.

Dan: I have also been using the Motorcraft oil filters, but I think when I change my oil this weekend I will give the K&N a shot. I have just been hisitant to spend $10 on an oil filter!
