GRRR!! 200 miles on my KB and its done....
I know KB will take care of you ,I know first hand . My 93 454SS had a whipple 1.5L blower kit on it since 96, recently it lost a rear bearing and the rotors started hitting each other and clunking. Pulled it off and rotors were damaged case was damaged. Called whipple about getting it fixed or a remanufactured unit. All I got was the runaround ,and the only thing i could do was buy an entire new kit for $3500+. I Needed the compressor only not the whole kit. They wouldn't sell me a compressor only ,or not even offer for me to send them the unit to look it over. I was Disgusted, thumbing through MMFF mag see a cobra with a compressor that looks just like mine. I gave JIM BELL a call and tell him my situation, he says the 1.5 was way to small for bigblocks send it in and we'll look at it ,Also told him i was one of the first 50 people to get the KB for a gen 2,. It was trashed as i suspected, IF i wanted to stay with a 1.5L compressor would be $1200 , HE urged and upgrade to the 2.2L for $1500 ,they would use my snout and mount the intake and fuel injectors adapters on for me. same pulley that barely eeked out 8psi on the 1.5 now will make 14psi on 2.2L. and fish tailing burnouts at 50mph roll
I agreewholeheartedly that the Internet is about the good, the bad, and the ugly, but many of you seem to have missed 35th's point, which I believe to be that it might be counterproductive to publicly badmouth a company while you still need something from that company.
Kinda like an old Kung Fu show: "One does not beat a drum before hunting tigers." Or something like that.
I helped another member here resolve an issue with an engine building company. I gave him the same advise. Chill out until the matter is resolved.
When you get what you need, then unleash hell. Just like 35th said, "Everyone will know about it when I get my money back next week."

1) I agree with 35th and Tim for the same reasons Tim posted.
2) Kenne Bell has responded in a very professional manner in the situations I have known about....including a noise issue I had on my OUT-OF-Warranty KB.
3) WTF is with the all to common comment from you Rob. The failure rate of KB's is extremely low, but if it makes you feel better about your "el-cheapo" lower performing blower to take a shot at KB...so be it.

Better yet, why don't you talk **** when his truck passes your truck with your 3000 dollar blower that sounds like a diesel coming down the train tracks

So....do you have any numbers on this....or are you just talking out your azz too?
P.S. I am sure I will be comming to a track near you....how about you and I line up at the tree? Since my truck runs like a diesel and all, it should be no problem for your well tuned machine.
Street tire for street tire we can run anytime you want chief, and I'm on a lowly eaton.
I know don has had his fair share of KB problems, and I would venture to be there are 15-20 KB lock up threads on this site. I did a search a while back, but no I didn't tally it all up.
I just think it's funny you are putting down Rob when he is absolutely correct. It's becoming an all too common problem. Open your eyes.

First...the names not chief...it's Ron. I'll be at all the FFW events...just pick one when it get's in your area, show up for any of the Test and Tunes...and your on.... Street tires and all.
Second.....nobody is putting down Rob. He made a blanket, unfounded statement, and I called him out on it and mixed in a little teasing to him of my own. I am still waiting for his response.
My response was addressed to Rob...not his fan club. Now you have gone and gotten yourself into what is going to be, for you, an embarrassing grudge race.

LOL, I'm shaking in my boots, and you won't see me at any FFW events. Didn't you say you would come down to race me??
I'm FAR from Rob's fan club, but you started with the insults.
Just out of curiousity, what's your truck run on street tire?
If I pull my seats out, I think I can squeeze a 12.8 out of her

Back on the KB topic. It is easy to read a few of these forums and assume that problems with any part or after market mod are numorous. A few posts here and there about problems can come off like the sky is falling. There are literally thousands of KB blowers in use. Many more than the Magnum or Works. Even if you cn come up with 25 seperate failed blower posts and 5 of those are locked rotors, ten are noise related and 15 are caused by improper use or installation, the percentage of failures is miniscule. There are alot of folks that own Lightnings with KB's on them that do not post in forums.
Just for the record...I happen to like the Magnum Blowers, but they aren't in the same class as KB. I also like the Ported Blowers if done right....and some have done tests to show they do as well as Magnum Powers.
Rob is a nice feller and all. But that doesn't mean he can just make blanket statements about what ever the hell he wants without being called to task on it.

To quote a major news outlet, "we report, you decide." Well, we need the information, and in a timely manner sometimes to be able to decide on things. You seem to advocate zero reporting, until you have been taken care of, or otherwise. I see nothing wrong with the facts being rolled out as they are happening.
If you are contemplating two products, wouldn't you want to weigh all of the pros and cons, rather than have to make choice based upon things like possible failure being concealed? I'm not saying that the failure is an epidemic for the product, but maybe some of us might go in a different direction with the knowledge?
Example: Group buy on a competitor ends this month. Perhaps one may be better able to decide on whether they want to take a chance on a possible failure on one product, versus another.
I think Rob's great. Not sure how he has the energy for so many BOLD statements in a reply, but he is the master!
I get energized just reading his replys! I also think that KB sells a LOT of blowers and the failure rate is pretty small, especially if you factor in the newer ones. I think there may have been a higher failure rate initially.
Mine has been perfect and it definitely made a noticeable power difference on my truck. Hope KB takes care of this.
