Anyone running a JLP pre-bent roll cage?

I bought mine from JLP about 2 or 3 years ago and am finally getting around to installing it.

I was wondering if any of you would measure where the rear supports go in to the bed?

I also need the same info for the back window holes?

If anyone could help with this info I would deeply appreciate it.

Those links do not answer any of his questions!

He is asking where to position the rear bars, as in specific measurements and or reference points!

Those links, if you read them, only refer to rear bars being requirred by IHRA/NHRA and that NO SPECIFIC angle is requirred!

I'm guessing it depends on the angle. From reading that post it appears that 30 degrees angle.

Dude, #1 there is nothing in those rules about any angles.

#2 that is NOT his question.

He wants to know where to mount/drill holes, i.e. postion the bar in relation to the body/bed and rear window....the angle is irreleventt to his question or the rules for that matter!

 

If he drills holes in the bed in the same spot as a truck with a cage, and mounts the bed/body bar in the same place on the top cage bar, then the final angle should be very close to anyone elses L that has a cage in it.

Everyone seems to be hung-up on the angle...it doesn't matter what angle it is...he wants to know where people locate the bar NOT the angle!

The angle does not matter to me, to him, or to IHRA/NHRA!!!

 

This is starting to sound like if the rear bars are required to me!
Just let Johnny get back from Bradenton and he can answer Suavy's questions.

30 degrees are not requirred and then he posts the rules claiming to show where it says 30 degrees and it doesn't...

But yet everyone still thinks that 30 degrees is a rule!

All because 30 degrees is not stated. It is still a good number. So since it does not state what degree. why not use the 30 degrees as a starting point for his measurements.

Again I am not stating he has to use 30 degrees. Just , why not?.

The question was where to place the bar not at what degree.

He, and rightly so, would like to know where on the bed to make the hole and where on the window to make the hole.

NOBODY cares what angle it is, nor does anybody know what angle that "everyones" bars are...the point is that the angle does not matter and should never have been brought up!

If he had asked at what angle should the bar be, I would understand this response, but he obviously is trying to avoid figuring the angles and simply wants a template of where to mount the bars!

I think what he was looking for was..

For example...

Rear bar hole in bed= 12" back from cab 6" in from bed side.
Rear window hole= 3" down from top, 6" in from side.

That type of thing...

The whole 30 degree thing has gotten way out of hand...
Apparently most of you don't even know what 30 degrees looks like, or you would realize that most rear bars are closer to 45 than 30!!!
