I guess I should say its VERY capable of Low 10's and MIGHT be capable of high 9's....I'm not sure since we haven't shot for 9's in my truck yet.

 

OK I may have been a little harsh with SVTF150, I'm sure he's a cool guy, and certainly has dealt with his share of Lightning problems. It just seems like every time JL's name is brought up, someone starts b!tching about his truck. Newsflash...until you run faster than him, you have no idea what it takes to make a truck perform at that level. Coulda shoulda woulda, he knows how to make a truck perform at that level because he's actually done it. How can you talk trash when you're SLOWER?

Hey Chickin, you're capable of 9's? I'm capable of nailing Brittany Spears, but I've never actually done it. If it was a fellow 'team member' building a truck like JL's you'd be jacking off every time you saw it. Instead you whine and complain because you're slower, probably crying yourself to sleep everynight clutching your JDM ctalog. Build something faster, then we'll care.

Yea, I've been there, done that with two of them...set my records and never bragged about any of it. I've owned Lightning's longer than you knew what they were. We have a couple other vehicles that would run you down and suck you up, but what's that worth...bragging rights? That'll get you real far in life.

You may be kidding, but smart as$ remarks won't get you very far. Enjoy your truck and congrats on your excellent E.T. But don't get too comfortable, because someone's always going to be faster.

You can be as harsh with me as you wish. I won't come back here talking smack about you. I am just the type of person that likes to see vehicles pushed to the limit in basically the same form they roll of the line. I am not trying to discredit JL, he has a fast truck, there is no doubt about it. But me personally I am more impressed with the truck that makes more power to go faster while still retaining the comforts rather then the truck that chops the roof down and changes the frame. That is just me. Talk all the crap you want about me for my opinion, but that is not going to change it. Also, I do know it take a lot of fabrication once you start going single digits, if I had an all out race vehicle maybe doing some of these things might interest me. I for one and I am sure many others still like to cruise the streets and line up at a stop light, or throw a quad or dirtbike, or some lumber in the bed, maybe even hook a trailer up. Then on the weekend change some wheels and go run a 10. That is what I like and always will like. I highly doubt I will ever be the fastest and really don't have much interest in that. I just like to go out and have some fun with some good company. I just don't feel you need a chopped top and a tube chassis to do that.

To the joker that said all it takes is the VIN to have a Lightning, HAHAHAHA. Go put a BBC between your fenders. -Mat-

 

I personally feel that Owning a 10 Second Street Lightning is Pure Bad@ss. To drive to the Track, Change Slicks, Put In Race Gas, & Rip off a 10 second Pass is SICK!!!
I have alot of Respect for you Guys Running 10's at Full weight & All but TRUST me when I tell You. Running 9's & 8's Takes BIG Horse Power & You Need to remove Alot of Weight to Get Down the Track. I'm Not Talking about 9.90's @ 138 mph. Some of You Guys will be able to Do that @ 4,700 Lbs. I'm talking 9.10's @ 150 mph. You need Serious Equipment like 4-Links for Traction & a Bigger Slick to Hook All that Power. I would Love to see Better Classes Sponsored at FFW Events & NMRA Events.
We All have Great Trucks & should be on the same Team.
I know Gen 1 Guys & Gen 2 Guys don't have whole Lot in Common with these Trucks but Man I Love Gen 2's & Gen 1's the Same.
We could all Go On with this what's a Real Lightning Thing forever! That's Like Alot of Gen 1 Guys Say to me That those Gen 2 Guys Need (2 Power Adder's) to Go 9's. That's Not a Real LIGHTNING!! .........Where do You Draw the Line??
I'm happy to see that (Lightningfest) has a Class where WE Gen 1 & Gen 2 Can Race One Another. This makes for Great Competition. Stay Fast Guys & To You All!

Couple of other vehicles that would run me down and suck me up...yeah in my truck...What makes you think I've never had vehicles faster than my truck.....You act like you know me or something....

You NEED if a simple joke like that got to you...

Thing is, I don't care if someone goes faster!!! More power to them, no matter who its tuned by!!!

 

Crazy thing is...I don't care if you care Say what you will, the truck is fully capable of 9's as it sits.

Sure is funny how mostly the guys slower than me are usually the ones saying we don't care and acting as though my life depends on them caring what my truck runs....
