We hope to see low 1.3 to high 1.2 60 fts!..If all comes together we should see a 8 sec. Gen 2 lightning next year![/img]
Why don't you just save time and build a chassis car and put a lightning motor in it

There is a difference in taking a factory car and modifying it, even if it is major chasis/suspension mod, and taking another vehicle and installing a Lightning motor. It's no different than taking a stock Mustang and installing a completely different suspension system along with a mini tub or tub. It's done all the time and it's still a Mustang and races in Mustang classes. If you take a car like John Force's and throw a Mustang shell on it, that's not a Mustang anymore.

Charlie's truck has been in the shop for a week or so getting the same modifications done. He has been planning on a chop and 4 link, tub, etc. for about a year or more. A new stroker motor is in the works aslo. Charlie is no stranger to race trucks and has had his share in the past 12 years. When he sold his 454SS with a blown 502, tub, etc. it was still sold as a 454SS.

Different strokes for different folks. The bottom line is it's all part of racing and most car/truck enthusiasts like all the options. Plus it will be pretty cool seeing a Lighting riding a 10 foot wheelie next to you going down the track. I'm sure a lot of people will get a nice plain view right out of their windshield.

Yeah, all a matter of opinion.

But I'm sure we'll all be subjected tot he I'M THE FASTEST talk when he's fully tubbed and weighs in a 3,000 lbs.

We need some new lightning classes it looks like.

That is not a GEN II Lightning. I am certainly not a jealous *****. I have no interest in any of that crap. It is lame if you ask me. Someone going out and running 10.20's at 4800 pounds impresses me. No matter who your are! Going 9.90's weighing 4,000 pounds does not. No matter who you are! -Mat-

I have a hotchkis dropped L with all hotchkis suspension work and a 4 link. I also have 2inches chopped because i think it looks better. Apparently i dont own a L anymore (please dont ask for pics as i dont have either of these )

Now on to more serious matters. How much do you guys recieve to be cheerleaders? Is it just a matter of lopping a few bucks off the 15000 motor you just bought? I truly am confused

Welcome to the site. No money for cheerleading, maybe some discounts and free parts.

You need to be posting in the Gen I site, just kidding..

So what you running in the Gen I?? 1/8 or 1/4

Swing Swing Swing from a pair of nuts.

Forgive me for having a different opinion of what a truck SHOULD be.

At the point he is going it's a full race mobile, at that point it's just a fast car/truck, not really what it started as.

As I stated it's time for some subsections of the Lightning community.

We get to sleep at night knowing we've spoken our mind and not just lied to a vendor about his paths for the sake of saying we love it.

Why is it such a problem to express an opinion that differs from your own??

I was at cecil for SSOTN watching 7 kids try to take off a tailgate to pick up a tenth. LMMFAO, I have pics because I was laughing so GD hard. How about we start looking for ways to make a product that benefits the average consumer and not just ourselves. Other tuners are going fast with trucks that a normal customer can drive to work, where is the beauty in going fast in a chassis truck?? Gay
