You yourself are contradicting yourself.......

Someone going out and running 10.20's at 4800 pounds impresses me. No matter who your are! Going 9.90's weighing 4,000 pounds does not. No matter who you are! -Mat-
The answer to this is very simple. Your truck is still slow enough that mass produced, factory assembly line stock pickup truck pieces are adequate. Eventually when you graduate to a fast car....here comes the shocker!....you have to replace pickup truck parts with race parts. Golly geez, whoulda thunk it?? The Lightnings underpinnings are desinged to tow your boat and haul a bed full of lumber, not traverse a racetrack in 9 seconds or less. I'm glad you're happy that your truck is slow enough to utilize these cattle hauler parts, but JL actually wants to go fast. This isn't a flame, it just seems you have no idea what it takes to reach a serious level of performance. When your full weight, daily driven wonder truck goes faster you can regurgitate your 'opinions' about JL.

PS...Do you consider RUSLOW's truck still a Lightning? Aftermarket suspension, relocated engine, fuel cell, aerodynamic mods. By your definition its not. Have a nice day.

HOLY CR@P

You guys are like little school girls. Grow the F@#$ UP!

If it has a Vin that designates it as a Ford F150 SVT Lighting.

GUESS WHAT?

Its a FRICKING LIGHTNING.

However you have to justify it to yourself, maybe do to jealousy or envy, you go ahead and do it. But it is still a Lightning.

Its a lightning whether it is:
Tubbed, complete Tube chassis frame, with a Turbo Mercedes AMG engine and all wheel drive out of a WRX, that was chopped and shortened.

Some of the people in here have the biggest Ego's thinking that they have the fastest this, or the fastest that. Get over it. You don't.

Ruslow has the fastest, Johnny Lightning has the quickest.
(and if someone beat those records, I don't know about it)

there is no fastest stock block, no fastest without nitrous, no fastest with nitrous, no fastest with stock unported eaton and no nitrous, no fastest with a stock eaton with nitrous, no fastest with a Apten ported Eaton without nitrous, no fastest with a WASP ported eaton with nitous. Do I have to go on?

Do you understand?

There is the fastest, Period.
there is the quickest, Period.

Is it really that difficult for you neanderthal's.

Go cry to someone else, B'cuz I'm sick of hearing it.

A 9 second street truck may happen, but it's going to be a difficult one to maintain and won't last long. Heck a 9 second fox body Mustang at 2900lbs is difficult to build, keep alive, and drive on the street. Anyone have one of those? I'm sure with all of the hardcore racers on here, you have to have something else you've built that's fast. I mean you talk with such experience, right? What I mean by difficult is, driveability and the cost of ownership. You will need a fully built race motor, laying down a ton of power(a lot more than what 10 second trucks are making now) if you are at full weight. Not only that, it's going to break. Those who have owned cars with this type of ET can chime in. I don't care if it's a Mustang, Camaro, Viper, etc...you can't drive something like that daily and not have maintainance issues...PERIOD. That's why some choose to make race cars or trucks. You can limit weight, points of failure on the street, and total cost of ownership. If you are made of money and have a lot of time to rebuilt motors, trans, etc. than there's no problem. But I guess that's not the case thus far, because I don't see any 9 second daily drivers. My point is....peopl really should respect others choices. First off, it's really none of anyone's business what others choose to do...unless they ask for your opinion. Secondly, it's not your truck. Thirdly, no matter how much you don't like it, it's still a Lightning.

-Is it a street Lightning? No.
-Is it what you would do with your truck? Maybe not.
-Is it what you would do with your truck if you were in the scenario as the owner? Maybe so.
-If you could have a street Lightning running low 10's and a race truck running 9's would you do it? Heck yea.
-If you could have a Dodge Viper vert, Dodge Ram SRT10, Corvette convertible, etc. and have a 9 second race Lightning would you do it? Heck yea...I mean HECK YEA.

Well, that may have answered your question...not sure.

i second the post by rscoleman. with the weight of these trucks it is eventually going to becone a limiting factor. that's why you don't see full weight mustang's, etc having the quickest 1/4 mile times, etc...DUH! Bottom line is JL has the quickest truck. none of this "mine is fastest daily driven", "mine is gonna run 9's", blah blah blah. if u beat JL then you can talk smack.

I love how you guys (some not all) can destroy a thread. Johnny came here to gives some props to his customers and toot his own horn a little which he has earned and all some of you can do is pick it apart like you are sherlock F'in Holmes or something. If Vinnie can run 10.67 a full weight and then some (20's) and he is just a customer (maybe a rich one but still just a customer) than I am sure Johnny could build a 9 second full weight truck.

Not one person has bothered to ask Johnny what his goal is with the truck. Maybe he has a bigger goal then just racing with his clients???
