Everything is bigger in Texas!
Herb101,
Rob02's method you mentioned is with slicks.
Unless of course he's on the street then that is his method
However, His F1 launch is very similiar to mine. I just cut a 1.83 last night on my F1's.
Heat em' up a bit.
stage with foot OFF the gas, dont flash the converter.
on green (or before) give about 1\4 throttle then mash it,
This is the part that takes practice because it takes everything in you NOT to mash it. It just feels so wrong to launch at 1\4 throttle but it works or it does for me.
good luck,
-Rich

Thanks Rich,
I'll have to give that a try. I know, on the street, I seldom need more than 1/4 to 1/2 throttle to become highly illegal. That same grunt should get me out of the hole OK at the track, I guess.
I hear you about the instict to stab it!
My worst runs happen with the worst mismatches (3 last night). I had an 11.80 Mopar on one run, a 10.18 bike on the next, then finally found a groove against a TA - the last run was a 10.30 bike, but by then I learned to ignore the next lane.
I will certainly post my results when I give that a shot.
