Goodyear F1's or Nitto 555's???
OK, I currently have my stock F1's on the front and some Nitto Drag Radials on the back. The F1's on the front are getting pretty worn but do have some miles left on them...the DR's on the back or about half worn. Here is my problem, the ride is TERRIBLE....I have serious vibration going on...pulling and pulling.....uneven tire wear. So, I am going to buy 4 new tires....all the same kind. I want to get my truck back the way it used to drive...its to the point right now were its not even fun to drive. I even looked at a Cobra yesterday....Then I told myself not to do that....get the tires first and give it a chance to drive better. OK, here is my question to you guys....some more F 1's...or the Nitto 555's?? I notice that the Nitto's are a few bucks cheaper but are they as good....how many miles can you get from them? Also, what are the best place to buy these...cheapest prices, ect.?? Just need some input & suggestions!
Thanks guys for any help you can give me!!

what you could try to do is get some Nitto 555's for the front and the 555R Drags in the back. I dunno why your having a problem in uneven tire wear and everything but I would suggest getting an alignment too. I have the stock F-1s on front of my truck and the Nitto DR's in the back without a problem like that. This is my 2nd Set of nittos and I got about 10k out of my old ones, including MANY MANY very smokey burnouts.

Not really sure why I am having the vibration problem, but I was planning to get 4 new tires...all the same and maybe put the Dr's on a different set of rims and only use when racing. I have had tires balanced 2-3 times and never fixed the vibration so I am going to try new tires now.
It doesnt neccessarily mean its your tires out of balance....your whole trucks suspension could be slightly out of alignment. When you bring in the truck thell them you want an alignment as well, 99%sure that this is probably your problem area. Especcially if you've had the tires rebalanced so many times. you could also try an on car balancing of the tires, I've heard of peoples tires being perfectly in balance while on the machine but for whatever reason when you put them on the truck they go outta wack. Only reason I know of that is cuz one of my good friends is a manager at a Local Goodyear, and he's seen just about it all when it comes to messed up tires and that sort. I would honestly go for the alignment right as when you put the new tires on, because if you dont, and thats the problem, then your gonna end up wasting another wad of cash on tires again. Should cost way less than another set of replacment tires in a few weeks. I think its the best bet to fix your problem.

Yes, I was planning on getting alignment when I get the tires put on. Also, I hear of these trucks having alot of alignment problems...What is it that you have to do to them to keep them in line? I have had an alignment already too?
that I cant help you with...luckily knock on wood....I havent had any alignment problems....I must beat on it evenly to both sides LoL

Since I had cursed F1s on my truck I vote for Nittos. My F1s were a magnet for nails and other crap on the street. After plugging all of my F1s and having one blow out on the freeway I switched to Nittos and haven't had a problem since. I have the 555/555R combo and love them.
I suggest sticking with the F1s. I have 30,000 miles on mine, and although bald, have had very good service out of them. I have 4 new ones stacked in the garage and will probably have them put on in a couple of weeks, along with a front-end alignment.
Whichever tires you decide to use, I suggest a matching set of 4 so you can rotate them regularly. Regular rotations will help even out the wear and help prevent a poor ride because of uneven wear. Just my .02

Silver, you got me thinking and searching and here is what I am considering.
The Nitto 285/50/18 Nt 404 extreme. V- rated
price is $146 ea.
It is at discount tire

My main concern is they better be quieter than the Perilli Zero that I am running now.
At the reduced price I won't mind leaving them black marks more often.
What is your $ .02 on this choice.
The price quote I got was from a store near me in Colorado.
