Question Norwalk FFW results

I saw the Tough Truck class run yesterday, and did not see many fast trucks.... actually there was only one, and it was a Mike Troyer tuned truck (11.1X). The JDM trucks were not running well, and Dons Bolt could only pull out an 11.98. Not sure if he had problems, but it would have been nice to see him run quick.

don't most of them run de-tuned for consistency in the competition? (since its not heads up?)

Exactly. Bracket racing isn't all about quickness, it's about lights and being consistent. Believe me, the JDM trucks can crank it up when they are running for ET/MPH.

I still do not agree with that methodology. It should be running consistent on your best tune. With what they do today, that leads me to believe that they have no confidence in their race programming, or engine build. These trucks can be run consistent at any power range. De-tuning and making the trucks run slower only lessens the chances that I, or anyone else would be inclined to buy parts from them. The Lightning class was a joke, but watching the Mustangs in the Quick Ford class, and True Street class was so much better..... those guys ran ALL OUT.

This is just a bad statement. IF you wanna argue this point, go read the thread that got closed a couple days ago with someone trying to argue the same point, and couldnt' get it through his thick skull that he was just plain wrong.

Have you ever bracket raced? Have you ever participated in it? If you haven't , do some research and you will answer your own question. Here is a link for ya just to save this thread from crashing a burning.

***Start around page 2, and Don and Vinnie's post around Page 3 sums it up best.

Anyhow...........NELO representing once again. Jamie took out Jimbo in the semis............hehe. Who one???

Those classes are not run the same. They are allowed to change their dial in at any given moment up until they run. They can make allowances for how the vehicle is running at that particular time.Wind speed, direction, barometer, temperature, and track conditions all effect how the car will perform. How do you do that in the Lightning class when you QUALIFY on fri and sat and eliminations are on Sunday? You can't change the number on the truck for any of the varying conditions so you make sure no matter what the circumstance you are able to run your number. You have to.If you don't you will not have much of a chance of winning.

All I know is I got to make one of these events,
so I can Whoop V's butt on film for the whole world to see

I could give a rats a$$ if I make it past one round

BUT I DO AGREE with the way my Brothers DE-TUNE their trucks to run when Bracket Racing.
It's just not for me.

A 5000lb Lightning can be off it's game AN EASY 1/2 a second on ANY given day due to Temp, Humidity, Wind, Track Conditions, Etc. A smaller lighter more aero car "such as a Mustang" will be much more consistant, and of course not put the same amount of stress on it because it's not fighting Aero, Weight, and Wind with each run. If you want to see A BUNCH OF L's run numbers, you need to go to a L Shoot Out, Spring/Fall Nationals, or JDM Day, WOO HOO...............

Dont worry Cobra, the only guys that will come into this thread and tell you that your full of ***** are the same guys that have no
no confidence in their race programming, or engine build
I'd rather see a show when I go to the races wouldnt you?

Sorry JDM cheerleaders, but its freakin boring to watch "the most 10 second daily driven trucks" run high 11's or low 12's, even when the conditions are ripe for great runs.

I'll say it again, if your truck can run 10.50's all day long, why not dial it back to 10.90's and be consistant?

Its because non of the "most 10 second daily driven L's" can run consistant 10.50's. NUFF SAID

Later...

Bruce

I have to agree that it was a little disappointing not seeing a truck that is capable of running in the 10's, do so.
I was anticapating some really kick @ss times when I saw the trucks roll out into the lanes Saturday. I think everyone else that was standing in the staging lanes, along with the rest of the crowd on hand was also expecting the same thing.
With that aside for one reason or the other, I was finally able to put a few faces to names. Nice meeting you Don and the" Bosnia Bandit"..
I was coming back over to see you Bandit, but I had to wait until almost 9:30 to get my second elimination pass in, and after I saw the big red bulb come on, I just loaded up the car and headed for home.
I will more than likely make the Bristol FFW event as I have to meet up with Mike T. and complete my tuning process.
Hope to see some of you there. 93cobra are you interested in going down. If so give me a call Monday sometime and we can hash it out. Thanks for the video shots.

Bruce personally I think your an idiot.

I am not a JDM customer.I have never personally bought anything from them. Not everyone who races that class are JDM nuthuggers. You obviously have a personal problem with the guy and just can't get over it.I am so sorry for you that he turned your world so upside down that you take any chance possible to talk crap on the guy and live every second for that opportunity.

This is about racing..not JDM.

You apparently have not run in the tough truck class at FFW so you don't know how it works.

I have and I do.

I would explain the whole process to you on how the tough truck class works, but I would be wasting my time.

Your only point to anything would be JDM sucks, and if you don't agree that they suck then you are a relative, friend, buddy, nuthugger, or whatever.

I personally am sick of hearing it from you.I and everyone else in the room knows where you stand.

So go ahead and say it loud and proud 200 more times in this thread for us.JDM sucks..JDM sucks... type away oh great one.
