Hmmm.. I looked at a SRT/10 today in Greenville, Mississippi. Sticker price was $47,017.90 (this was after the $507.95 paint sealant option & the $89.95 accent stripe option tacked on by the dealership)

Looked at a Lightning a little while back In Shreveport... $32,xxx.xx sticker price.

Do they really mark up the Dodges & mark down the Fords in your area that much?

I think the underdog would be the Dodge, right?

Modified Lightning or not, the SRT still has 500 horse power right? Why is it that the L can get the job done with only 380?

I think this thread has to do with one truck beating another truck. In one race. Not which truck is faster stock. Its a great feeling when my truck beats a vette or even a 'stang. Whether or not my truck is modded or not, I won. So, I think this thread is only about one race, not lightnings vs SRT-10's in general. Of course it wasn't 'fair' because the lightning was modded. Its just like if you sleep at the light and I beat you with a slower time. You lost. I won. The race is over. I'm happy, your not, in fact you have the excuse you got off late, or missed a gear, whatever. You lost. I'm happy, you're pissed. So i'm sure HANKFAN had fun winning, especially since it was our direct competition.

I would take the POS back too ... but whats he going to tell the dodge dealership?

"I was just driving home, and had a race with a Ford Lightning..." ...Im thinking the option to return the truck goes out the window. He would have to make up some other excuse..... thing is, I bet he would have hung in there better if he had some experience driving it.

moded lightning sure, but I dont think he had 500 hp with the mods he had mentioned. so sounds like a fair race to me ! I know Im brand loyle but a race is a race and the dodge boy asked for it.

but honestly I'm jealous. I have not even seen an srt-10 (new viper or truck) in my area, there are a few 1gt generation vipers, but nothing newer than that.

I saw a prototype srt-10 truck months and months ago, but I was in the Grand Cherokee.

Well. nice kill. The way I see it, I'd rather spend 40k-45k on a L w/mods than 55k-65k on a SRT that would keep up with the L for 10K or so more. That's just me. Good run, I'm still waiting to see one around. My Kenne Bell is getting put on right now as I type, so I really can't wait for an SRT now.

Nice kill Hankfan, Question though where can you buy an SRT-10 on Mother's Day, let alone take one back? I thought dealers were closed on Sunday.

Red01- The dealership he purchased the SRT-10 from is so big that they are open on Sunday's. It's like 6 dealerships in a row that are owned by the same man. They are huge.
