yysenhimer: Just to clear things up I stayed at a hotel overnight (monday) and it's only about 2-3 miles away from Apten. I got up tuesday morning and then drove over to Apten, stayed there all day and then drove back home.
If only I could give y'all a hint of this new mod that Apten tried on my truck...lol. But Brian made me sign this paper with my own blood that I could not reveal this to anyone!

And lastly I just let my brother-in-law drive my truck to see what he thought about it. Hahaha, he couldn't believe the difference. The blower just keeps pulling and pulling

Again, Apten does a fantastic job

Congrats on the new numbers. The services and products that Apten makes available to us are great and what makes them even better is their customer service and willingness to work with the customers.

Hey Brian,

So when do you plan on releasing this new mod to us?

Brian,

How about at least letting us know how much this new mod will cost? Just a ballpark so I'll know what to expect. I want to go on record now saying I want one of the first one's available!

You have all my contact info.

Jerry

Who's gonna be the first one to ask for info or a picture
when we already know the answer

I think their re-inventing the Wheel
OR SOMETHING

You kill me Brian, but I like your style
(and you are our vendor now)

Pick up a quart of 'Boost Reducer' at AutoZone. Pour it in before your smoooking runs.

I hear ya Rob02 about the rod strengthing oil. I was telling the guys at Apten yesterday after they got thru I think I've about reached the limits on the stock block. But there's always that thirst for just a little more horsepower that never seems to get quenched!

Great numbers, but the base number seems low to me. I have the same mods minus the TB and I have a mild street tune vs. 20 degree timing. I pulled 385 RWHP in 85 degrees with no cool down (Drove 1 hour to the dyno). I also know of people with the same mods and an aggressive tune that are getting 405 RWHP. Not to take anything away from the final results, which are killer, just wonder why the base number looks so low.

There are so many variances from dyno to dyno its hard to tell. Weather/temp/cool down and other things can affect this I'm told. Whether my numbers are low for my mods before the porting I can't tell ya that. I'm no expert. All I know is the before and after. I did go to a 1/8th mile track last year with my current mods (minus the ported eaton of course)and ran a 8.6 at 82.7MPH. I did have some traction issues but I felt I should have been able to pull an 8.4 at least. some i've saw with similiar mods and they have ran low 8's. So my truck may be indeed a little low on the HP side versus others with same mods but I think APTEN has now taken care of that for me.

The only thing that jumped out at me was the 64/35 numbers. I have been following many many sites and posts on the ported blowers and it seems the gains have been anywhere from high teens to a high of 40 in HP. Now numbers like this? They are awesome but sure don't seem consistent with what we have been seeing. The baseline figure seeming low would make account for it i guess.

Oh and for what's it worth, since Johnnyonthespot mentioned he has the same mods as mine minus the throttle body, if I had it to do over again I wouldn't have wasted my time or money on the Single Blade Throttle Body. For the $400 plus that it cost, get something that actually improves HP and makes a difference. They advertise it improves throttle response which I think it does but that's it. It nets you nothing IMO. Some may differ with me on this and I have no dyno sheets to prove this but for the money, it's not a worthwhile mod. Stick with the factory T/B.

JohnFastruk:
I went in there expecting a solid 30HP gain so it suprised the heck out of me too. I can't speak for APTEN but as Brian has stated before they continue to do research and development on their products and improve upon their orginal designs. I'm not saying they have gotten it now where everybody that does this will see 50-60hp gain. But for the money this mod is the best yet. Even if I had only gained 25-30 I would have been happy. Porting the Eaton seems to gain some good HP but really seems to amplify it greatly when you add extra pulley (like the #4). Regardless of dyno numbers, I would recommend this mod to everyone. Just my 02 cents worth.
