My L vs a c5
I've owned 3 vette's, and still like chevy's, but am somewhat confused. Short tubes always worked better on chevys, unless the new C5 motor runs better with LT's. One thing I've found that's pretty consistant, guys with fast cars know their fast, and know what they can an can't beat. If this guys telling the truth, you'll kill him. The fact he wants to go for $500.00 makes be think he's lying his *** off. Lile the others have said, his mods may not be noticeable. If he knows your mods and that you're runnig slicks to his street tires and he still wants to race, then you know he's lying. My '87 Grand National would pick up almost 6/10's just switching to slicks from my street tires. I like the advice many others have given, race but not for cash.
I agree 100%, not with a stock blower.

Just an FYI: my friend has a camaro SS that is stroked. Totally, totally stock looking..stock exhaust, wheels, engine looks bone stock....auto tranny, etc....he runs 11.7's on street tires, no problem. He walked a modded '03 cobra that runs 12.3's by 4 car lengths 0 to 80mph. Your guy may just have heads and a cam and f-bodys will be in the low 12's with just those mods and an intake. And the engine would look completely stock. Good luck.

Truth is that alot of vette owners get cocckkie. They get the mentality that they are bulletproof since they bought one of the faster cars around. Honestly I think u could take him. But its too much money to put down for just one race. I say the first one to win three races should get the money. U could get a crappy launch, he could miss a shift(or so you hope). But, itll show which car(and driver) is truly better.
