ok folks, ive got a race with a mosltly stock c5, he says basically all he has is longtubes (and with that im thinking exhaust).

i have 6# pulley
psp chip
intake
tb
truck tracks and slicks (he doesnt have slicks)
160 thermo
2400 stall
stepped long tube and full exhaust
tranny cooler
ftvb
and few other insignificant things probably

who do you think will win? he wants to bet 500 bucks and i dont want to loose this money, but he deserves to get his *** handed to him.

 

Throw a little 50 shot in there and raise the anti to $1,000. What times have you run ?

 

You will win if in fact the only mods the C5 has are exhaust.

I have less mods then you and have run several mostly stock C5s and never lost so far as long as you are talking 1/4 mile. Top end he will start to pull you.

I would imagine with your mods you are at least a mid 12 second truck since with my 6#, chip, intake, slicks I run 12.6@107mph.

 

havent been to the track this year yet, but sal said with a race program he could get me close to 12.0s

it will be an 1/8 or a 1/4

 

I have beaten C5's with less mods and using a 3# lower. So that being said and your mods you listed you can take him. If you know how to launch. Be cautious he dosn't have a bottle.

He will get you on the gas. If you know he isn't packing the gas, run him and tell us post the results.

You will kill it if that's all he has. I am a carlength behind my buddy's 02 c5 with exhaust and powertune, and all i have is a 2# upper, open air filter, and catback.

 

If your runnin close to a 12.0 it shouldnt be a problem,like thor said just make sure he aint got no juice.let us know how you make out.

 

It should be a walk in the park, Esp if you run 12 flat. I never run for money though. Not because I dont have the cash but more so because I feel this hobby is about bragging rights. When you bring money into the picture things are no longer fun.

JDM tuned a L with a 2# lower and it ran 12.0

 

Did he ask what mods you have and did you tell him the truth?

i told him the truth, and i told him that i wouldnt race without a thurogh look down of each other's cars.

12.0 with a 2#? not bad, well i guess we will see when i get a good race program
