Isn't this a bit much?

Along with the "CPR stole my money" and the "don't trust so and
so", it's no wonder nobody wants to hang around here from the
old days.

Just my opinion, of course.

PS... and I'm with Tim on the SIGS ... It's outta hand. I was on the
road on a dial up and could barely read the site ...

Steve/Doug? Need faster/larger servers? Cut the crap out.

Agreed!!! And while were at it, how about all the hijacking going on, with personal howdy-do's, etc... Looks more like a public e-mail forum at times...

I've had my L for a while now, and although this board is great for all sorts of information, it frustrates me that all the extraneous off-topic comments are included. Especially when searching for information, you get all this added baggage.

For this reason, although I generally find useful information, I'll keep my lurker status. This whole thing makes me not want to contribute...

Sorry, had to vent too....

Cilff,

I find your bringing this up and a request to "cut the crap out" as more than just a bit hypocritical. If the graphic said JDM instead of REM, I suspect you wouldn't care one bit and would likely even take every opportunity to pile on, at least the precedent you have set on these forums.

With that said, "slander" is in the eye of the person or company that is the target of the commentary. From what we have heard from REM, they don't care too much about this childish little rant. They have not asked us to close or remove any threads that discuss their company in a negative light by this individual.

Also with that said, it is my understanding that "promod" has been contacted and asked to tone it down. Doug is out of town at (I think) an FFW, so I don't think he has checked the forums in a couple days so I cannot confirm that with him.

Regarding the sigs and faster servers...the download speed of large images would only be increased by milliseconds if the server were upgraded. Outside image links would not be affected at all. And it looks like you're asking Doug and I to enforce something on the boards, won't that just lead you to complain about our enacting and enforcing policies?

I do think I have to agree with SVT_KY in one regard. If you want to picket REM, do it in front of their place of business, not on mine. This is not their place of business, they are merely an advertiser here. This site is not intended to be used as a saltbox to beat a dead horse. By now, everyone is aware of your opinion of REM, you've voiced it numerous times and the content of your myriad of posts on the subject will remain for all to search in the future. If you continue to beat the dead horse however, which includes responding to posts solely for the purpose of displaying your anti-REM image, your posting rights will be suspended, per our rules.

Nothing was mentioned by me about any vendor. I just made a basic analogy.

ferchristsakes ...

OK, I guess no matter what I post, you will always see it as an
ANTI-JDM rant. Jeez ... In some ways I empathise with Promod
since he spent a ton more than some for marginal or disasterous
results. If you continue to marginalize everything that I post,
don't you think that is going just as far the opposite way?

Justin has it right ... You can't carry on any conversations on the
internet.... It's just too dayum hard to interprept.....

Oh, BTW ... I am totally satisfied with the roll pan that I
purchased from Justin@JDM ....

They have not asked us to close or remove any threads that discuss their company in a negative light by this individual.
Does this happen often enough with any of your vendors that you were expecting REM to ask for this type of assistance? Seems to me that if someone posts their negative experiences and can back up their statements with fact, then their thread should be allowed to stay, albeit pruned of the piling on, to help not only the vendor in question improve upon the problem and make it right with the customer, but to possibly give a potential customer of that vendor that reads the thread a "heads up" on that particular situation.

This is not their place of business, they are merely an advertiser here.
Billboards on the highway are advertisements for a product or company and I have never been driving down the road and read a billboard that said "Hey, Grey03, call me at the shop for a great price and to order this product". When the vendors are allowed to post information, product specifications and pricing in the Lightning forum, then it becomes their place of business. Vendors are allowed access to profiles which may or may not include email contact to pursue potential customers. Making it a one on one type of sales situation. So even if you dont think so, this is a very large part of their business.

Do what you wish with this, my opinion.

TOLL FREE #'S WOULD BE NICE

Sorry to offend you. Pay me the money CPR owes me and I'll be happy.
To recap I placed a second day air order with them April 16th 2003. I finally get a COD box from them approximately a month later for a few hundred dollars and change plus the COD charge. I open the box and the items on the invoice don't match the COD charge. It has been a long time and I have requested a refund numerous times. Five months after the original order was placed and I still haven't got a refund or product...That is stealing from me.
I hope they are at the NMRA event becasue my truck will be there also.
CPR stole my money!

It isn't like this is a joke or that I don't have the box, invoice or COD card...
If a business screws up as much as the ones mentioned in this thread they deserve some negative publicity.

Just a quick observation........

I'm a firm believer in the old saying, "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

Personally, if I had stood by and watched someone take me for a $19,000 ride, I think I'd be rather ashamed and keep quiet beyond sharing it with my attorney in hopes he could help me get some of my money back.

To come on here and keep posting reminders of your loss only proves just how accurate the quote above is................

To the Webmaster

Check out the "Unofficial Pontiac Better Business Bereau" at
http://forums.performanceyears.com/6...1&f=9956059711
A forum such as this give members a place to vent about bad or GOOD experiences they've had with suppliers etc. The Performance Years site and your site have a lot in common. Maybe a similar forum here?

I'm with Grey on this one ... Nobody should have to ASK ...

Vendor bashing will no longer be tolerated on this forum. Detailed and truthful first person (not posts like "my friend got screwed by...") posts about positive and negative experiences with F150online Supporting Vendors will be encouraged within the context of a thread and will not be removed (which means that they will be searchable for all the see when researching a vendor), however repeatedly posting negative comments or intentionally driving threads off-topic with "dead-horse" issues will result in:

1) Warnings sent by email for a first offense.
2) Banning for a second offense.

No user will be banned without a discussion between Doug and myself after a review of a thread. If necessary, we will also consult the Supporting Vendor in question for their input. Posts that violate this policy (and subsequent "piling-on" posts) will be removed from the thread.

IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH A SUPPORTING VENDOR, RESOLVE THAT ISSUE WITH THEM DIRECTLY, NOT ON THESE FORUMS.

No exceptions. If you do not agree with this policy, please refrain from posting on this forum. Thank you.
