Any Updates on Exhaust Cut-Outs?

I did a search and came up with a few posts with some good info about exhaust cut-outs. Most said they lost low end but gained some HP. Does anyone have any updates? I remember Spade was the one doing all the testing but I havent seen him post in a while. If I get them its for purley sound, I would most likely leave them closed at the track. Just a little toy to scare the ricers

I had mine installed about a month ago. I don't know about any horsepower loss because i haven't gone to a dyno or anything, but i did get a better ET. The sound is mean as hell but can get anoying over a long distance of hearing it. It does sound load and mean, i get way more respect now.

Electrics are sweet ... my friend's Z28 has them and it blows the ricers
right outta the race on the street. ... They just stop running ... LOL

Any info on size of pipe, location of cutout would be appreciated ...

I think I need to roar also ...

TIA

Cliff
PS ... I had heard that a single switch controlling both ended up getting outta synch
so it was better to use TWO switches ... i.e. Two Single Exhaust setups

Cutouts work

Hey-

I have QTECS before the cats.

I posted a *40* hp gain with them open.

I started a thread last Monday: 658hp/792lbft

read it, you'll be convinced.

Does make the mirrors/truck shake like 20inch subs blastin' out gansta rap though.

This is not a complaint, I think the sound (esp. with the cams) is awesome.

see ya.

teamSLS,
Could you e-mail me exactly how you set up the cutouts on your vehicle? Are they electric or standard with a screw on cap?
Placement?
Thanks for any help,
Ted

I'm guessing if you remove/gut the cats the gains won't be near as much, if any at all.

yea, mine are before the cats, i have hi flows though so it gives some room for them, i had the electric plates but i took them off for now seeing as sometimes they could be a more of a burden besides i plan on building a custom blingy switch panel for everything in the near future
