600hp plus guys here please…

The Mustang guys is where this thinking came from in the first place…
Seems several guys running out of fuel around 600hp and several are going with things like FAST, but I am really trying to fine out if we even need something larger than the 55#.

Ayrton, while I agree that Mustangs use to be limited to 550-600 RWHP, this was before the stock Dual pump setups that both the Lightning and Cobra now have. Both the cars I listed in my previous post are Stock PCM cars and stock fuel systems. Another thing to add is both have made over 600RWHP without N20. I guess in a way it was wrong to use their best ETs as examples because they use a Wet N20 kit to add more fuel. Also to answer your question, I havent heard of anything more 55# injectors that can be used with stock CPU.
Hey guys-
I have the 55's, Adjustable Pressure regulator and 255's. So far, good for over 650hp+.
I do have a boost a pump as well, set at 25%, like JL.
A/F in the mid 10's with Idle pressure at 38.
The new 4 ply gaskets are awesome...no leaks, tons of power.
Of course, they have yet to be subjected to the 175 shot
more dyno this week, if I have the time.

Up until recently the 55's were the biggest that were available in a High Imp version unless they were custom built. I recently received a set of the 60's that were mentioned above. I will be doing some testing with them over the next month to see how they work. My only concern with them is if they can react quick enough for idle and low speed driveability.
I have sold a ton of the High imp 55's to guys in the 03 Cobras and several to lightning owners, to this point I have had no problems with any of the injectors.
Someone asked about Nitrous Pete and Richard Lelsz, Pete run the Hi 55's and Rich runs the 50's.

You all should look at running some sort of DFI to solve this issue.
When making gobs of boost such as the 26+ PSI from a Kenne Bell I noticed some fueling problems, with my Dual Overhead Cam Set up thats similiar to Randy Haywoods car.
I also recently switched to the 2003 Cobra DOHC Heads for flow and will be on the dyno this weekend seeing the difference in numbers.
I run Lucas 72's with Braided custom made fuel lines and custom built billet fuel rails. This set up will support over 1000-hp easily.
I am a mustang racer and have learned over the years what works and what does not.
And to answer other woes......if you run a DFI you can ditch your Mass air meter and not have to worry about inlet issues. We have a huge Mass K&N strapped tot ehfront of my Kenne Bell!

Mustangbadboy, sounds like a neat combo, Are you saying your a 4V Lightning currently or just switched from 2V to 03 Heads ? Also, Does Accel DFI contol the transmission or does somebody make a Full Manaul Valve body ? Also just curious because I see Southwest, Who does your tuning ?
Thanks and if you prefer to email me the responce or just dont wanna say, thats understandable.

Also please forward that info to me if your willing I have an 03 cobra with the KB and gobs of boost and he 55's I am worried about running out of fuel as I start to push my combo, I am very interested in the DFI. I also would like to use this on my 02 DSG HD as I am building a block for it before I strap the kenne bell on. so this info is greatly appericated, Thanks in advance, and awesome rides!
This is turning into the same thing as the Cast Crank issue, guys worring about something that isnt a problem. Nobody has made enough power to warrant the need of bigger injectors. 55lb injectors are good to over 800HP@ 80% duty cycle. Do you realize that just 3 1/2 yrs ago guys made over 600BHP with only 36lbers, Although not on Lightnings but HP is HP. With a roots blower and 2V heads , your not going to make more power than 55's can handle. Its all math, and a roots blower can not move enough CFM to make the power. Boost has nothing to do with this, its CFM vs effeciency.
Mustangboy is the only 1 that might have to worry but even his MPH show he isnt making enough HP to warrant 55's. Things might be different with his 4V heads but that remains to be seen.

I'm running the Aluminum Navigator block. did have ported and polished factory heads but just made the switch as randy haywood did to the 2003 SVT cobra heads.
I piggy back my tranny harness through my DFI box and have an electrical adjustment know inside the truck.
I have a very moderate tune in the truck and the times were slow due to some tuning issues. I feel with the new heads and 4.10's that 9.90's and 140-mph are not far off.
This truck is making so much power that we had to de-tune it to keep from blowing the tires off.
It lifts them right off the ground.
I'm not into any bashing and I just go and race for myself, but can't wait until Topeka to show my Beast off!
Haveight....My harley truck is sporting a Works 140 and I'm fixing to hit it with 18psi and see what happens...with a good intercooler, a good tune and the right combo you'll have no prob running on the stock block for many many years!
