What always gets me about cops is they don't follow things like speed limits and "safe" driving. They are above the law, and they know it. Don't you hate it when you see them speeding, or when one of them cuts you off or tail gates you because you are trying to be good so he won't write you a ticket.

 

Wanna grow some ***** and address the questions or are we just going to flame and run again? Oh, and you're right....one-sentence responses do suck.

Muscle man i am not trying to start an argument.... but put yourself in my shoes. I am 19. I get pulled over atleast 2 times a month. I have been dui tested 3 times now. I have had my truck searched 5 times. I dont drink and drive. I dont put drugs in my truck. I get profiled for a stolen vehicle or drug dealer all the time because i drive a 35000 truck which i paid for through hard work. I speed on occasion but have never recieved a speeding ticket. (God bless PBA cards in constant supply) Cops in my town are skum bags. They have never got me on anything big, and yet i get pulled over so much. Put it this way.... my truck stands out in my town and they are dying to get me. I dont know why.... Go figure

Like you said earlier not all cops are bad. Its just the 30 percent or so who give the other 70 percent a bad name. Ive been in your shoes also and Ive learned there is nothing good possible thats going to happen to you after 12 am and your out in your truck. Think about it for a second. Think about all the bs youve been in the last 2 or 3 years and ill bet you it happened after 1200 am. If you count getting laid as good you can always get that taken care of earlier in the day.

most was after 12 but i got searched twice, one at 7:30 and one a 8:45 early in the night both times in a school zone. They must think i push crack or something and are trying to get me on the school zone charge. I dont know. They suck. Getting laid is worth the dui test most of the time. But a dui test on your street at 2 in the morning wiht the lights blaring so your neighbors can watch is rediculous. He asked me where i was going and i pointed to my house. You'd think he could figure that out.... seeing is how he had my drivers liscense for 10 minutes and the address on the liscense matched the street we were on. I was litterally in front of my house. What a dumba$$.

Scary enough, I have only been pulled over 3 times in my life (21 Years Old). And I live next to the town that is natorious (Spelling?) for pulling young kids over, wasting an hour of their time on the side of the road, searching their car for anything, and bringing their 'k9 dog' in ALL THE TIME.

Once in Chicago Heights, guns drawn, and everything. They thought I was in involved in a hit and run Scary as he....ll. I was driving a Ford Escort. =) Asked if I had drugs, or weapons, apologized, and let me go.

Second time, coming home from Iowa. No front license plate. IL I was probably the luckiest man alive. I had two 6 packs in the front seat, one totaly empty, just the box, and then other was missing 1 bottle. I WAS NOT drinking and driving and he kept asking me over and over and was looking all over the front of the truck (Had the lightning). I thought I was in deep doo doo when he asked me to come back to the truck with him. I left my truck run and stopped in. He just looked up some info on his laptop, wrote me a warning, and asked why I HAD the plate in the truck, but not mounted. And I told him, it was a semi rare truck and I didn't want to put holes in the front. And he understood. He just suggested I find some way of mounting it or putting it in the front window. And he warned, some cops are as-es and will write me a ticket regardless, but he understands. Was very nice.

Third time of course, my mustang I owned. 83', T-Tops (Factory Installed), fully done mustang. Was going like a 120 on 394... as soon as I pulled on 394 I gunned it. He was waiting at the gas station. And yes, this cop was a ... 'mean man'. He was a complete smartas$ and was my first ticket I ever got. And he made sure to point that out and make comment. ''Oh, well, looks like i'll be the first to write you a ticket! Haha''... he really got me upset. And he never clocked, I argued, I had a cop dector. He said he 'pased me'. @ 83 mph. I was well over 100. Go figure. I wasn't going to fight that in court.. ''Well, he was lieing! No way he was pasing, I was going 120''. Either way, he had the ticket, and then stopped, came back, and asked if I was doing anything on 'such and such date'. I told him work, and he made the comment 'Well, I think I would like to see you at court! I hope you can get the day off..'

Again, that made me so upset. I just smiled the whole time. Which probably got him upset. One thing about cops, is don't get upset and talk back with smartas$ remarks or such right there. They love that I think. My brother, got 4 tickets in one stop. Started with tinted windows, my brother argued, was really pissed, screaming, etc... So the cop comes back with another ticket... my brother gets more upset, and so the cop goes back and another. He eneded up with 4 tickets for things 'done to his car'.

So, it all depends I guess. Some are just complete As$es all the time, some probably depends on their day, I know when I have bad days everyone suffers. I wouldn't go as far to say ALL COPS are bad. I like a lot of them. I know one tha tpulled me over in my mustang for taking off all agressive and going side ways on the street. He let me go because he said he heard the firebird behind me reving me... and he has a mustang too, and 'understands'. But he warned me to just watch it around other cars. Nice cop... prob not the right thing to of done <g>... but still.

 

No. They suck for NOT doing their job.

Cops exist to protect the public. Speed traps do not exist to protect the public; speed traps exist to generate revenues.

Speed traps are immoral, taxing people committing minor infractions just because it's easy money, while criminals are robbing, raping, and defrauding other citizens. People who operate speed traps, even when they are "just doing their job" (i.e., collecting revenues for the city), are committing an immoral act.

So, yes, when I see a cop pulled over on the side of the road with a g*ddamn radar gun in his hand, it makes me mad. I mean it's not like we have a crime problem here in Los Angeles or anything.

I have been the victim of theft five times in five years. No speeding car has ever caused me any trouble at all.

 

This sounds like a similar situation, cops singling you out because you have a nice truck or jealous or whatever.

I was loading a keg into the back of my truck the other night. So I was pulled up to the front of the store.along with another car there doing the same thing. So she gives me a ticket for parking in a fire lane and told me it wasnt a "loading" zone.

So I moved over to a parking spot 20 ft away and watched as she approached the vehicle in front of me. The guy said the same thing, I"m loading a keg and i'll be leaving in 1 minute. The cop said OK, go ahead. So I hopped out of the truck and when i questioned her and asked for her badge # she got irate and told me to just go home and drink my beer and not to worry about that other person, to worry about myself

Most cops **** me off just because they could be doing so many better things in our town. Like the 20 robberys and 10 rapes in the past 3 months that have occured.

That is 110% ''BEING AN A$$'' right there. I'm a very 'well tempared' person, but man, that would of really upset me. Did you get the badge #? I would of taken the time down, cop car #, and would of reported that right then and there. Called up the police station on the cell. =)
