Ford's Quality Control Is Crap
Ford's Quality Control Is Crap
Look what I found when I was installing speakers last night. I had my kids restrained by this seat belt. I mean WTF. Held in by a zip tie. I sure hope Ford reads this. I can put up with a clunk and noisey tourqe converter, poor gas mileage, but saftey is where I draw the line.
Any advice as to what to do, other than getting it fixed of course would be appreciated. What I would like is an apology of some sorts I guess from someone other than the low man on the totem pole. We'll see what happens when I take it in this afternoon.
PS can somebody host the picture in this thread, I tried but not sure how. Thanks

Just trying to make sure I have the facts.
Was it only being held by the ziptie? or did you find the ziptie after you took out the bolt, meaning that the ziptie and the bolt were holding it in?

What I can't figure out is why the bolt didn't roll up by my feet when I stopped. I guess I have'nt done any panic stops.
My truck had the same problem but i didn't even have a zip tie. My girlfriend and some others had sat in the middle seat a few times and then one night they actually pulled on the belt, it just came right out. WTF?

If anyone could tell me who to email I sure would appreciate it. Should I call SVT and try that route or something else?
Thanks for letting me vent. I'm the type of guy that checks all the doors at night before I go to bed even after my wife has already done it, I'm the type of guy who practically gets a friggin ulcer when my kids get sick, so suffice to say I worry about my families well being or I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Probabaly more info than you wanted to know. Thanks.

Man thats completely UN-ACEPTABLE......
I have had my pass seat out a few times and my center belt was bolted down. Buts thats not helping you. Thank God you saw that before anything did happen.
Ford Motor Co e-mail would be anybodys name @ ford.com
I would start with JColetti@ford.com. Send the pic with an attachment and go from there. I would also take a pic of the zip-tie to my dealer so they would be aware of this problem. Maybe it would spare somebody the anguish of finding out the hard way

I guess i will take my seats out today and check my belts. How long have your truck for that bolt to be laying there unnoticed and not moved.

MHMCGILL,
I am not suprized.
My 2003 was missing the reflector around one of the cargo lights and 2 of the 3 screws that hold the dome light were hardly threaded into the bracket. I havent found anything else yet, but I am looking.
Sorry that yours was a safety issue...thats serious business!
