That is a good looking truck!! Hopefully how mine will look after ordering some of this. Where is the best place to find this stuff?

Edit - Nevermind...I just saw all the responses as to where to get this stuff.

What do you apply it with? Foam applicator pads, in a straight downward motion I assume?

Does anyone have a pic or model number of the PC orbital that everyone talks about? Also, how much did you pay for it and where did you get it? Finally, do you use the polisher to apply and remove the wax or just remove? Thanks for any advice/suggestions/information.

You name it I have used it. I bought CWW 2 years ago and still haven't used it since the first try. Set a buch out to other for them to try. Personally, I think it is heavily scented to cover-up the petroleum products in it that gives it the wet look. It doesn't last very long and I have concerns over the chemical formulation. That's all I say.

Zaino - great on light cars, OK on dark. It reflects light where as carnuba wax refracts light. That is why you get a sterile shine vs. a deep, wet look.

Pinnacle Souveran has been my wax of choice for over a year. Damn expensive but worth it IMHO.

The real key is preperation and I have finally found the process and products that make my black L look like a black pool of water.
Gave my zaino to my neighbor with a viper and will throw out a ton of other chit.....I have over a hundred bottles of care care chit!
If I kept going, I would have needed a twelve step program. Hi, I'm Jeff and I am a shineaholic

NeedFourSpeed,

Can you advise the Pinnacle products you use and prep procedure.

I have done the Zaino / Cherry and as you said the Cherry does not last ..... at least on black

Thanks,

I went with this setup here. Since i needed the clay, i just bought the best kit they had...

http://www.autogeek.net/pinnacleprod.html

After this, ill try some of the perfect polish.

I will be stripping with Dawn, then SMR for Dark color with the Porter Cable. Then slap on the cleansing lotion... Add 1 coat of souveran.. Sat morning, ill add the next coat then top it off with the Crystal Mist. Ill take some pics but im quite positive it will look awesome.

Here's answers in the order of your questions.

1) Porter Cable Model 7424 is what I think the majority of us have.

2) Here's where I (and others) got it. Was the best price I found. http://www.coastaltool.com/cgi-bin/S...adf+1051224681

3) I only use the PC to buff paint prep products (Meguiars Medalion Paint Cleaner or #9 Swirl Remover, 3M Swirl Remover and the like) onto the finish. Removal of these items is done by hand with a microfiber cloth. My final coat of Meguiars #26 wax (or similar product) is done by hand and removed with a microfiber towel.

A suggestion. If you buy the PC from Coastal, ditch the applicator pad that comes with the unit (it's junk). Get yourself a couple good pads before attempting to apply any products to your finish. For other suggestions/information, do a search for "Porter Cable" on the site and you'll find a number of posts discussing the use of the polisher. Good luck.

Yea, i posted a link months back re: getting the PC at coastal. Now, when you need to order your pads, go here...

Also, for anyone wanting the skinny on the PC and accessories, hit this thread You will have to register but the wealth of information over there makes it worth it.

Zaino Z2 works perfect for lights, especially silver.
