So yesterday I’m driving my cobra to work. It’s a 94, not the best year for the cobra, but I’ve done some work to it. Anyway this guy in a new L wants to race me. I say ok cuz I just want to see how my car would do. Well needless to say the guy beat me (big surprise, right?) Well the guy follows me to work and then laughs in my face that I lost. He tells me that he has never lost race and that I should buy a real car. (Man I’m thinking to myself I drive a cobra.) I tell the guy to meet me for lunch and I will serve him his first defeat. He laughs again and says there is no way you can make that car go fast enough to beat me. Well he met me for lunch and I showed up in my 2000 civic si, which I have put a lot of work into. This guy shows up with a crowd telling his friends that he’s going to race a cobra and to come watch. When he sees my civic, again he’s laughing and tells me I don’t have a chance. This guy has no clue that my car is now a turbo and produces around 400 horses at 20psi. I was running more around 12psi when we raced, which would put me around 300 horses. We line up and I stomped him bad. He claims that he got no traction, so I told him lets do it again. Again I stomped him. He was just in amazement that a light car with a turbo could beat him. After it’s all done he then tells me that I might have beat him but that I couldn’t come close to his friends L. What ever, I’m satisfied.
I just wish if you are going to talk s**t about someone or someone’s car you should now a little something about what you are talking about.

 

8 posts in 8 months and you come on here with a civic beating and L. I don't think this is going to go well.

All I know is no matter HOW much HP an econobox makes, it'll never sound 1/100th as good as a blown V8 ...Everytime I hear a d@mn ricer running around with their can-o-bees, I can't help but laugh that they ACTUALLY think that sounds good???

Come on guys. Anything Fast is OK in my book. I'm not down with the whole ricer scene but to me a ricer is one who puts stickers on the windows, fake Type R emblems, neon lights, big as.s wing, etc.
If this guy puts work into his car and its putting out 400 horses thats great.

I’m not here trying to L bash I just wanted to bash the guy more than the truck. I was hoping he would read this. As far as the fart can goes on the ricers, I agree. I hate that sound too. My civic is a complete sleeper and sounds normal except for the blow off valve. I do have pics of my car but don’t have a scanner.

I have to agree with rocketir. A ricer to me is someone with all those stickers and makes his car all gaudy looking.
and as far as brap goes, you have your opinion.
I enjoy all types of car Enthusiasts even ricers but when you think you are king cause you bought an L and don't know anything about your compitition that you race, well to be nice you need a clue.

 

as long as it isnt all ghetto and like someone said coverd in stickers with a huge metal wing...then I dont really care. It's ignorant to think that we cant be beat by a civic, there are plenty of 12 sec civics out there....its just most of the slow ones have the biggest mouths and think they can play when they cant. ANYTHING can be fast if you dump money into it, doesnt matter what it is or what it looks like.... Im sure you all know that anyhow

 

My question is why be upset because he talked smack about beating your Cobra..............Let's face it, you chose to race him, and when he wins, you decide to bring in a ringer car to up the anty. He then tells you about his friends "L" which is faster, but your satisfied now since you beat his truck.........Somehow I don't see the logic in this at all, other than your a bit jealous. Get over it and buy yourself a Lightning, you know you want one.
