Well, I save on the little things like Valentines day gifts, birthday presents and jewelry. Maybe that is why my wife hates the truck...

You just have to keep it all in perspective. Nice diamond necklace and earings or a Kenne Bell supercharger. The choice is simple.

$1100 mortgage? $800 apartment? Sheesh, I wish it was like that around here.

900-1000sq-ft 1bdr aparments go for $1400 by me.
House prices in the "nicer" areas START at $300k and go up, so not $1100 mortages. lol.

I quit school and jumped in the dotcom boom. Though I missed my stock-option millions by about 6mo, I'm doing alright now. My year-end bonus this year could pay for another Bolt... Just wish I was independently wealthy, like Bruce. :P

Well, when you have a mortgage, you can also have a home equity line.

yea, the light bulb sales are good. If it weren't for all the taxes, I could buy 2L's and a few mod's for each.

You need to change your perspective on things. Stop thinking about why you don't have what everyone else has, and think about what you do have. There are many people out there who would like to own a Lightning, like you, but cannot. There are many who would like to have two newer running vehicles, like you, but cannot. And there are many who will only see Cancun in a magazine and never be there, like you can.

If you're getting through life on just Ramen just to have your truck, then sell it. It's pretty bad to sacrifice your health and basic quality of life, just to own a material item. If you can't afford it, then don't try. Wait a few years until you can afford one.

Did my question have any sort of implicit jealousy involved? I think not. I am MORE than happy with what I have.

As for the nature of the thread, it was a light-hearted question. I think most understood that. Otherwise, I would think that your post would be more effective and suitable if directed towards our coke-dealing Gator friend or maybe the organ-generous TINNMAN.

As for me personally, I admit I have taken *some* steps to save up for the next mod. The statement about my clothing purchases and change in taste is completely true. As for Ramen and my health, thank you for your concern but it was written in jest (no pun intended ). I eat very healthy for a college student and am proud of that fact. Do I splurge like I used to? No, I don't frequent restaurants daily as I did before the purchase of the L.

And as for what I *have*...yes I think about it. And I am more than grateful.

edit: Oh I almost forgot....it's not two running cars...it's THREE. You forgot my 97 Altima Daily Driver/Winter Beater.
