Thumbs down Chrysler Tech

Talked to Chrysler zone rep, said SRT 10 will come out spring of 2004. Said he didn't know what sticker would be.

I am not a Dodge fan, but with rods, intercoolers, and spark plugs on the 5.4, at least the Dodge has a real race engine built to take the power built into it. A little bit of money in that engine, and even a modified L will probably be sucking wind. And what do we get from SVT? Warranty denied because of an aftermarket aircleaner! What????

Probably is the key word here. You obovious have not priced Viper V-10 high performance parts. After you do, please come back and see if you still stand by that comment, "A little bit of money....."

Let's see hear....First we have a V-10 motor that was originally built for a truck way back when that was put into a sports car body and lo and behold we have the newest Vette killer, the Viper...then we have the same motor being taken back out of the Viper and put back into a truck cause Ford is making them look bad. To me it sounds like there was no engineering involved, a team of jacka$$e$ could have done that....ooops we are talking about Chrysler here....never mind then.....

you may be right about the money to mod a V-10. But I remain very disappointed in the 5.4 engine with its known problems and Ford's failure to fix them, particularly on the Lightning, which is sold as a high performance vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the L more than any other car I've owned, but these design engine problems have no place in this vehicle.
