Ford didn't have any competition when they brought out the 360 hp '99 and didn't when they bumped the '01 to 380 hp.
I believe they would have brought out a pretty impressive truck without Dodge. Competition will help though...

Lemme guess, you'd seriously rather have 380 over 500 without doing a damn thing except signing on the dotted line. I've got to get to the rest of the thread now...

I'm thinking heads + intake + kb (well swap it over from our trucks if/when we get it) + adaptor plate + parachute.
Then we can keep our bodystyle.

LMAO @ Andy
I don't know about you guys, but i'm not too impressed with dodge quality... I had a 95 v10 4x4 2500 single cab ram that didn't hold up worth ****. Granted it was the cast iron version of the viper engine at only 300 and 425 torque and an auto.
When I applied the brakes the truck would wander either direction -- it turned out that the 4 axle supports were not strong enough to hold the front axle so it would flex. Guess what? TSB and i had to pay for the 4 axle supports. Then the ranny was going out at right around 65k-- I got rid of that bad boy after talking to other owners hearing about thier trannies going out at the same mileage. The gas mileage was the same whether going up hill, down hill, towing, winter or summer---- 10 MPG!
But who knows -- they have the renound t56 tranny going in the srt-- right ? Its the same one in the cameros, new cobra, and the viper. Thats not dodge so we are good in that area!

x'cuse me, but the Ford L concept looks more "Ricer" than that ugly Dodge. Not only a HP race but also an ugliness race. Dodge still has the edge there but Ford is catching up fast.
